@Autistic_Lauren Miserable. I would either just stand completely alone because all the benches were taken so I'd just stand watching people who actually had friends run around -- or I'd be bullied. I did make friends at times but it was hard and I was hardly ever their number 1 friend either.
@areyoflight people dont think that my disability needs extra costs. if it didnt, I wouldnt be entitled to PIP. the way pip is made, it wants people not to get it, rather than to get it, so when u do get it, it is clear u need the help it gives (tho many get rejected when they need it too)
@Autistic_Lauren No allergies, seem to be intolerant to everything tho lol (IBS). And sensory wise, I have a lot of issues too, like if orange juice has bits in it, any kind of fruit with seeds in, etc etc. 😅
@sleepingpixiee@Autistic_Lauren Omg this! When I got diagnosed the woman told me I had combined type ADHD and I said "I think I just have the inattentive type" and she said that she believes I have internal hyperactivity. Since starting ADHD meds, my anxiety has gone down significantly, indicating she was right
@Autistic_Lauren I like your questions and your open mindedness to differing views within the autism community! Your questions encourage conversation and that's really nice.
@Autistic_Lauren Yes because writing a message on my phone is completely the same as going into a job and doing a lot of different tasks that I'm unable to do and talking to people (sarcasm, not directed at you but whomever made that comment initially!).
@Autistic_Lauren Yeah a lot of the time it just doesn't feel like a safe space to talk about it because my passion and enthusiasm for my special interests gets misread as anger or aggression. I can only really talk about them to select safe people.
@Autistic_Lauren@adamfare1996 "You should've gone during break time" I WASN'T BLEEDING DURING BREAK TIME! (this version actually happened to me tho I wasnt confident enough to say the bleeding bit haha)
The disabled experience of telling someone you can't do something for (x) reason, them telling you "you'll be able to do it if you actually try it", only for you to prove you were actually right all along
"You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."
Rest in Peace, Jane Goodall 🙏🏻
