Check-in on the well-being of your students by having them journal in @googledocs. Students can ask questions and reflect on their feelings and accomplishments, and teachers can respond to them with comments. Shout out to @cheywalent for the tip! #DistanceLearning#SEL
PSA:
Don’t take your shoes off at the Theatre.
Like. Please. Your fellow audience members and the gods of theatre DO NOT NEED your nasty ass toe stench permeating the same air that Sharon D. Clarke is releasing her heavenly voice into.
Leave. Your. Shoes. On.

Spent time reflecting with my class before #vacation. Respect your students. They notice it. They need it. And they WILL return it.
No matter the age, the challenges, or the moment. Give #respect, and you’ll get some in return.

Kamala, her Chucks, and her pearls will always have my heart.
But ladies and gentleman...Amanda Gorman is here to slay. Here to take this Inauguration Day by storm.
Here to show us all the absolutely beautiful and prolific power of words.

When #hybridlearning hands you lemons, you throw on your Mad Scientist lab coats and change the world.
Smiling behind those masks are the most resilient humans I’ve ever met. We thank you @donorschoose!
GUYS. Hybrid learning is the worst thing EVER. But kids are friggin’ great.
@LisaRomanoEDU @ELmagazine@ASCD@drewry_megan@AliKirchberger@StephanieGronda Some snail mail magic! In-person students writing to introduce themselves to virtual students and enclosing an addressed envelope for them to write back. (Supporting the @USPS too? Total perk.)
Also @EVERFI’s Compassion Project is FIRE.
It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.
We preach that it must be #maslowbeforebloom for #students.
We can’t forget that the same must be said for our #teachers as well.
Teachers are being asked to cast their own needs and fears aside. And being criticized and demeaned as selfish.
Maslow before Bloom applies to all.
Gov. Lamont says students “need to be back in the classroom. They need social interaction with their peers.”
What social interaction? At desks, behind masks, all day, 3-6 feet apart, no group work, minimal-if any-movement from their desk.
