I am deeply disturbed by how easily people equate the Shoah with the actions of Hamas.
The Nazis exterminated us systematically, with cold calculation, as if it were just a job. The terrorists kill like beasts, with rage and stupidity, reveling in their cruelty.
The former tried to hide their crimes. The latter broadcast them to the entire world.
The former were driven, however inhumanely, by a belief in the righteousness of their actions. The latter… by nothing but raw, animalistic hatred and fury.
I would cooperate with the devil himself if he fought hunger in Africa. I see no hypocrisy in that, as long as you understand and are prepared to face the consequences.
Would you cooperate with Hamas in distributing humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza (assuming they are genuinely doing it), knowing that this would strengthen their power and popularity?
Support - in what exactly? In the killing of Ukrainians? In sustaining a cannibalistic regime that, for all its misery, still manages to keep millions from falling into utter poverty, hunger, and despair? In torture and political assassinations, or in paying doctors and teachers? In corrupting minds through propaganda, or in the absence of gang wars on the city streets?
A simple question? There are no simple questions.
One of the most terrible forms of betrayal is the betrayal of one’s own mind. And there is no better way to betray yourself than by choosing a side in any conflict. The very idea of the existence of “sides” is fundamentally flawed. By accepting it, we trap ourselves.
@MauriceHarting0@VividProwess Such ignorance - to think that people elect Hamas. Remember once and for all: in an authoritarian or even a dictatorial regime, no one truly chooses this. That kind of power does not rely on the people's support. It is built on fear, not love.

Because otherwise, the conclusion becomes unavoidable: part of the responsibility lies with the side they defend. And that is difficult. It is difficult to become an enemy to those you consider allies.

Yes, the world is obviously unfair. Owls suffer when they have to wake up for work. But don’t envy early birds. And definitely don’t shame us for our so-called “privileges.”
The biggest lie of the modern world is that it’s supposedly built for early birds, while poor night owls suffer. Seriously? Sure, it’s convenient to wake up fresh at 7, get things done, work productively. Great. But then evening comes, and social life begins.
No matter when I go to bed, I’ll be awake by 8:30 at the latest. The whole next day is ruined. I miss out on most activities, my friends don’t see me for months, and so on.
Lost as representatives of civilization. Here is a piece of advice from an old, wise woman: do not turn away from the horrors happening in Gaza. Look at the evil perpetrated by the terrorists and speak about it loudly. Freedom for the Palestinian people. Death to Hamas.
One of the noblest qualities of the human being is to look evil straight in the eye without flinching, and to call black black. The moment we falter, the moment we look away, the moment we say—out of cowardice or for personal gain—that evil is not black but gray, we have lost.
