yeah, if you just try to translate a phrase then you use the default meaning. if you're trying to localize dialogue then you need to use the context

there's an australian saying "time to hit the frog and toad". it's cockney rhyming slang, which means "time to hit the road" which means to go, but has bogan roots

if purely translated it would be talking about when you plan to start punching amphibians. localization would translate the meaning, which would be like "time to fuck off eh?"
