If you’re preparing for ML interviews in 2026, this could literally change your trajectory.
No fluff. No gatekeeping.
Let’s build killers in AI. 🚀🔥
Since we started @mlinlagos, my goal has been to create a genuinely technical space for ML engineers and enthusiasts. I believe we made real progress toward that vision this year. Here’s a look at what we achieved in 2025:
- 12 monthly technical sessions covering topics from healthcare and medicine to optimisation, efficiency, and applied AI.
- Launched Office Hours (bi-monthly), hosting 6 Google Developer Experts in AI & Cloud.
- 1 Hackathon Sprint where members built real projects and collaborated.
- 2 Study Groups cohorts (with one still ongoing).
- Special events like the International Women’s Day event and the Grad School Series.
- Partnerships & collaborations with @gdglagos, @gdgcloudlagos, @DataFestAfrica among others.
- And most exciting of all, our first-ever physical meetup in December, featuring 3 workshops and 2 technical sessions. It was energetic, practical, and we received amazing feedback from attendees.
Reflecting, we achieved a lot. The feedback has been wholesome, kept us going, and doing more.
A shoutout to the community and people who actively engaged, registered, and attended our events, and a special shoutout to the core team for their relentless work in bringing each of our activities to life and to success.
Looking ahead to 2026
In the new year, we plan to build on what we’ve started by:
- Strengthening our technical programs.
- Expanding Office Hours to Googlers.
- Launching our research track.
- Deepening cross-community collaborations.
- And importantly, securing sponsorships so we can sustain and scale the work we’re doing.
If you or your organisation would love to support the work and community growth, we’d be happy to connect.
Thank you for an amazing 2025. Here’s to learning, building, and growing together in 2026.
