Why do so many Chinese go to American universities?

Because it's EASY to get into a top 20 US uni.

Chinese International school students study less than half as hard as public school students and get perfect GPAs.

SAT / GMAT is a joke, literally the single dumbest Chinese student at my business school, who was known by everyone on campus for having the lowest GMAT score, had a 700/800 score- which is still top 13%.
And that score is enough for like a top 5 global business school.

Essays are written by admission consultants and extracurriculars can be gamed by parents hiring foreign basketball coaches and paying for their son to play in stacked teams.

Basically the dumbest motherfucker in China can at the VERY LEAST get into UCLA or NYU, while they might not even be able to get into ANY Chinese university if they went the public school route.

Obviously, if you can afford it, why wouldn't you send your kids to NYU instead of getting embarrassed by your kid not having any college degree at all?

People think Chinese go to America because the education is better, but they actually go there because the education standards are lower.
