There was something special about being a kid when adults didn't feel the need to entertain you every minute of the day.
Your parents could take you somewhere incredibly boring, and you were just expected to deal with it.
The bank. The hardware store. Your mother's friend's house, where you sat on a couch covered in plastic and weren't allowed to touch anything.
Nobody handed you a screen. Nobody worried about whether you were having fun.
You studied the wallpaper. You read the same magazine three times. You stared at the clock and wondered if the second hand had stopped moving.
And if you made the mistake of asking, "Can we go now?" your mother gave you that look.
You know the look.
The one that could end your entire afternoon without a single word being spoken.
I swear, we developed half our imagination simply because our parents refused to entertain us.
Looking back, I think being bored was one of the best things that ever happened to us.
@MonicaMAlmaguer I hate the way people say they “love” their spouse as an excuse.
Love is an action, not a feeling. You can’t excuse lack of action by saying you still “love” them
Ephesians 5:22-33 is all great.
The problem is the feminists in the church want to pretend the roles of the wife are outdated and no longer in context, while the roles of the husband are still valid and must be followed.
If you want husbands who love, nourishe, and cherishe,
you have to also want wives who submit, satisfy and please.
Otherwise, you are just a hypocrite at best.
‘For richer or poorer’ was never a prediction of your financial future, nor was it an attempt to speak poverty into existence. It’s a declaration that the commitment transcends all coming circumstances.
If you can’t even entertain the possibility of standing beside your spouse through financial hardship, what exactly are you vowing to?
I’m married as hell and I don’t feel this way. Lmaoooo. If your husband telling you you’re beautiful isn’t enough, you just like male attention. Because “I need to be desired by other men” is a wild way to announce your husband’s compliments ain’t shit. 😂
My neighbor caught me hollering, “You don’t mean that, Patrice” at her dog while it barked at me through the fence.
she immediately took Patrice inside.
One man will never be enough when a woman seeks the attention of the world starting with the internet/social media. She needs to be in therapy to heal her need of external validation, bc her poor loving husband simply isnt enough for her.
Growing up, boys are taught to do the right thing while girls are taught to do what’s best for them. These opposing attitudes carry over into adulthood and erode gender relations down to a nub.
I'm in love with this quote
"if you don't let people experience the consequences of their actions towards u, you will remain a safe place for their worst behavior"
imagine breaking into a dude's apartment to murder him and then saying "I thought it was my apartment" and everyone just goes along with it, and gets to be treated like serious people after doing so.
@KenFarmer “Even the parents didn’t believe him.” But when I say something like that, everyone acts like that’s the minority. It’s funny how often it happens for it being such a small set of cases, huh?
