Sometimes you gotta remind people:
I was solid before you showed up, already blessed, already grinding. You added to the vibe, but you were never the reason for it.
Don't confuse access with credit.
You will never get closure from the person who hurt you. You will only get it from the version of you who refuses to let it happen again. Stop analyzing their motives. Start analyzing your boundaries. Understanding them is a trap; protecting yourself is power.
crazy how peaceful life becomes when you decide you no longer have the energy to teach people how to appreciate you, respect you, respect your boundaries, treat you right, listen, communicate, resolve conflicts, honor agreements, be accountable, and have difficult conversations.
I am a very private person. I don't even like people knowing nothing about me or my personal life. If you’re not in my immediate circle, then my life should be a blur to you. Respectfully.
People know your name, not your story. They’ve heard what you’ve done, but not what you’ve been through. So take their opinions of you with a grain of salt. In the end, it’s not what others think of you but what you think of yourself that counts.
The best decision l ever made was to be quiet. I have nothing to prove. I'm not convincing anyone that I'm a great person. I'm not fixing what I didn't break. I'm not fighting for anyone to see my worth. Whatever you do is on you. Just hope you don't regret it. As for me, I'm moving forward, free and at peace.
Lately I’ve been focusing on what I can control and making peace with what I can’t. I can’t control how people feel about me, what they choose to do, or whether they see my value. I can’t make people be honest, loyal, or consistent. What I can control is how I respond, where I put my time, and who I allow around me. Life got a lot lighter when I stopped carrying things that were never mine to carry in the first place.
I'm at a point in my life where I pray to keep meeting the right people. People who genuinely want the best for me, hold me in high regard and add peace to my life.
It takes tremendous courage to face your trauma and do the hard work to heal yourself. Don't doubt the healing you've done, because healing is not linear and sometimes you keep revisiting the same trauma, each time at a deeper level or each time at a different wound.
Healing is a process - it takes time and doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes you'll feel you're finally over it, and get on with your life, until a new trigger reopens the old wound, making you dive in deeper to heal more layers. You've got this though - keep feeling and healing.
