I said I am a Muslim before being a Yoruba, and you people are getting angry. What exactly is the color of your problem?
Being Yoruba is an accident of birth. I did not fill out an application form to be born into this ethnicity; it is simply a matter of geography and genetics decreed by Allah. It is a temporary, earthly reality.
Islam, however, is a conscious submission to the Creator. It is the very purpose of human existence and the only identity that holds weight on the Day of Judgement.
Allah explicitly states in the Quran (Surah Al-Hujurat 49:13) that He made us into nations and tribes simply so we may know one another—not so that we elevate tribalism (Asabiyyah) above His laws.
If prioritizing my eternal faith and submission to Allah over a biological accident triggers you, then your scale of priorities is completely upside down.
My heritage is Yoruba, and I am proud of it, but my ultimate allegiance is to my Creator. Deal with it.
FACTs don’t lie: Ibos Agenda of 59 years ago was to capture Lagos but Victor Banjo diverted the troops to Ore and Okitipupa to save Lagos from being captured by the Biafra rebels.
Ibos are still hell bent on Capturing Lagos till today, Yoruba Ronu o
He asked everyone who they would vote for; he didn't ask why for Atiku, but when he got to PBAT, he asked why, thinking the guy wouldn't give him a good response...😃😃. The guy schooled him.
The lady's response is typical of the delusional responses from the man's supporters.
It is prescribed for every Muslim man and woman to offer four Rak‘ahs before the Zuhr prayer and two after, two after the Maghrib prayer, two after the ‘Ishā’ prayer, and two before the Fajr prayer, totaling twelve Rak‘ahs a day. These Rak‘ahs are called Rawātib (regular) because the Prophet
observed them regularly while alive.
Nigerian Army has listed rescue of 10 corps members, killing of 16 terrorists and recovery of weapons after repel of simultaneous attacks among the recent achievements of its troops in operations across the country..
This was revealed in an operational report made available on Thursday(Yesterday’s)evening.
The report indicated that troops of Operation UDO KA rescued the 10 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted in Imo.
According to the report, troops of 34 Artillery Brigade responded to a kidnap incident at Umonuwa village along the Onitsha-Owerri Road in Mbaise Local Government Area at about 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.
This is what happens when we give the microphone to people who are only interested in using the religion to please the crowd.
Is this not the same Alfa who was sweating and stammering when Pasuma confronted him with a question about the ruling on Fuji music? He knows his audience, and he knows what he is doing.
But as we always do here, we will always set the records straight.
First of all, he claimed Abu Hurairah would kneel down at the door to greet his mother. This is a blatant fabrication. We must demand he provides the book and the chain of transmission where he found this. He will never find it.
What Imam Al-Bukhari recorded in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad (Hadith 14) is contrary to his claim. The Arabic text reads:
فإذا أراد أن يخرج قام على بابها فقال: السلام عليك يا أمتاه ورحمة الله وبركاته... رحمك الله كما ربيتني صغيرا
"Whenever he wanted to go out, he STOOD at her door and said: Peace be upon you, O my mother, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings... May Allah have mercy on you, just as you raised me when I was young."
The authentic narration says he STOOD at the door (قام على بابها). There is zero mention of him kneeling. This Alfa deliberately slipped the kneeling part into the story to manipulate his audience. Subhanallah 😭
If you want to validate your culture, do it without lying against the noble companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Second, he tried to justify kneeling by saying that Arabs bend when kissing the hands and feet of their parents. He asked, "Will the person who wants to kiss the hands and legs not bend?"
In Islamic jurisprudence, this is called Qiyas ma'a al-Fariq (a false analogy). He is comparing two different things. Bending down to reach an elder's hand or foot is a mechanical movement dictated by physical necessity. You are bending to reach a target.
Kneeling or prostrating, on the other hand, is the core gesture of the greeting itself. It is a standalone posture of veneration.
In Islam, the act of bowing (Ruku) and prostrating (Sujud) out of reverence is strictly reserved for Allah. When Mu'adh ibn Jabal came from Ash-Sham and tried to prostrate to the Prophet (peace be upon him) out of deep respect, the Prophet immediately stopped him and forbade it.
He made it clear that if he were to command anyone to prostrate to another human, it would only be a wife to her husband, and even that is forbidden.
Lastly, he pulled out the usual emotional blackmail card, claiming we are Yoruba first before we are Muslims. People use this tired line a lot to manipulate the masses into prioritizing culture over the Shariah.
Theologically, this is false. Long before we were placed in the wombs of our mothers to be born as Yoruba, Hausa, or Arab, our souls existed in the realm of the unseen (Alam al-Dhar). Allah tells us in Surah Al-A'raf that He gathered all souls and asked them, "Am I not your Lord?" and we all testified, "Yes, we testify."
Therefore, that primeval covenant was our first act of submission. We were Muslims who submitted to Allah before we were ever assigned an ethnicity. Being Yoruba is an earthly identity and an accident of birth. I have said this several times here.
Being a Muslim is an eternal covenant. You cannot elevate an accident of birth over a divine covenant just to force people to kneel for you.
We must not allow people get away with selling falsehood because they want to validate cultural norms. Submit to the text, or drop the microphone.
Allah knows best.
2026 INDEPENDENCE DAY ADDRESS: FROM REFORMS TO PROSPERITY
My fellow Nigerians,
Sixty-six years ago today, our flag was raised, for the first time, over a free and sovereign nation. Since then, we have journeyed together as one nation, bound by our collective trust in the great promise of Nigeria: that a country of our size, our bountiful resources, our cultural diversity and, above all, our extraordinary people can build a giant in Africa; that in this blessed and fertile land we can build a united, strong and prosperous nation; a land of regional authority and global consequence.
Our journey has not always been easy. In truth, it has generally been too hard for too many. We have known moments of great hope and periods of profound disappointment. We have endured war, military rule, economic crises, insecurity and political upheaval. Yet through it all, Nigeria, with the indomitable spirit of its people, has endured.
It has endured through the efforts of the farmer who rises before dawn to work his land. The trader who opens her shop each morning, hopeful for a productive day. The teacher who believes in the children entrusted to her care and the young entrepreneur who refuses to surrender ambition to circumstance. We are grateful for the men and women of our Armed Forces and security services who place themselves in harm's way so that the rest of us may live in peace.
Through every difficulty, generations of Nigerians have continued to believe in one thing: that this country of ours will be better.
This faith, which sustains us all, is the inheritance of independence. Our founding fathers did not struggle merely for a flag, an anthem or a place among the nations of the world. Independence carried a larger promise: that Nigerians would have the freedom to shape their own destiny and build a nation capable of providing opportunity, dignity and a better life for its people. Sixty-six years later, Almighty God has made it our responsibility to deliver that promise.
Today, as we celebrate our independence, we must speak honestly about the journey so far, the choices we made, and the country we are determined to build from here.
For too long, the promise of Nigeria was undermined by choices that postponed difficult decisions and allowed deep economic distortions to grow.
By 2023, poverty was rising, and hope was nearly gone. The country's situation was darker than ever. We had no choice but to act.
Nigeria was like a sick patient who receives the terrible news that he has cancer. His doctor explains that the treatment will be difficult and painful, but that it offers a strong prospect of recovery. The patient has a choice. He can begin treatment, endure its discomfort and fight the disease. Or he can ask only for morphine, dull the pain and leave the cancer to spread.
For too long, Nigeria's leaders chose morphine while praying for a miracle that never came.
They focused on symptoms while allowing the disease to take hold deep within the fabric of our society. We spent enormous sums sustaining inefficient arrangements that were never intended to last. We hid from difficult truths and passed the consequences from one generation to the next.
When this Administration assumed office, we resolved to do things differently. We chose to excise the cancer. The reforms that followed were difficult. The side effects were real. Yet, we must never confuse the medicine with the disease.
Our reforms did not create the weaknesses in our economy. They confronted them. Now, as certain influential but regressive voices would have us abandon the treatment and return ourselves to the abuse of addictive subsidies, we must resist their siren song. We must remember why we began this journey and how far we have already come.
Do your Tinubu Must Go in peace and allow those of us with Tinubu Must Stay to do ours in peace as well. That is democracy, everyone has the right to support or oppose a candidate or government. At the end of the day, elections are decided by numbers in the ballot box, not by who throws the most insults.
I love how science is always playing catch up to the Sunnah.
Researchers tracked thousands of proteins and found out that the real biological benefits of fasting do not even start until day three. They are literally calling it a software update for the human body because that is the exact moment the proteins linked to longevity and brain health finally wake up.
Long before modern medicine had the tools to map this out, the Prophet (peace be upon him) prescribed fasting three days every lunar month. We see it as an act of worship, but the Almighty designed it as a total physical reset.
The divine blueprint is unmatched.
Alhamdulillah! Two young sisters came to the masjid today to embrace Islam. I directed them to the Imam, who helped them take their Shahadah on the spot. 🥹🤍
Masha Allah, Allahu Akbar! ☝️🤲🏽
May Allah bless them, strengthen their Iman, and keep them steadfast upon Islam. Ameen.
