A Tribute to His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel at 60
As you celebrate your 60th birthday, many may not hear loud fanfare because you have always preferred quiet dignity to public applause. Yet, there are moments when silence would amount to ingratitude. Today is one of those moments.
You came into public office not merely to occupy a seat of power, but to leave behind institutions, values, and a vision that would outlive your tenure. You taught us that leadership is not about self-glorification but about service, sacrifice, and stewardship.
You built more than roads and bridges—you built confidence in the possibilities of Akwa Ibom State. The bridge across Mbo stands not only as a remarkable engineering achievement but also as a symbol of connecting people, communities, and opportunities. The network of modern roads you delivered opened up the state and transformed lives.
You gave Akwa Ibom something no one had dared to dream of—a state-owned airline that has become the pride of Nigeria. Today, Ibom Air is more than an airline; it is a symbol of excellence, discipline, and the proof that government enterprises can succeed when guided by vision, competence, and integrity.
Perhaps one of your greatest gifts to our people was not made of concrete or steel. You built a Temple dedicated to the worship of Almighty God and, in doing so, deepened a culture of gratitude and thanksgiving among our people. You reminded us that beyond human effort lies divine grace, and that a grateful people will always find strength for greater accomplishments.
You also gave Akwa Ibom an anthem that speaks to the soul of our people. Every time it is sung, it rekindles our identity, our unity, and our hope for a greater tomorrow. That melody will continue to echo through generations, reminding us of the ideals that bind us together.
History will also remember you for another priceless gift—your role in ensuring a smooth transition that produced a worthy successor. The leadership now guiding Akwa Ibom State has continued to build upon a strong foundation, exceeding expectations and earning admiration across the nation. That continuity is itself a testament to your foresight and commitment to the future of our dear state.
Posterity has a way of separating temporary applause from lasting achievement. When that judgment is made, your name will stand among those whose service genuinely advanced the cause of Akwa Ibom. Your legacy is written not only in physical structures but in the confidence you inspired, the institutions you strengthened, and the hope you restored.
As you mark this milestone, may Almighty God reward your years of faithful service with many more years of good health, abiding peace, and overflowing joy. May your days be filled with the love of your children, the laughter of your grandchildren, and, in due season, the delight of your great-grandchildren. May you reap the harvest of every good seed you have sown, and may your latter years be richer in peace than your former years were in labour.
Thank you for serving with vision. Thank you for leading with humility. Thank you for proving that greatness does not need to announce itself.
Happy 60th Birthday, Your Excellency.
May your light continue to shine, and may your legacy continue to bless Akwa Ibom State for generations to come.
APC Ministers nauseate people on Television. Did I just hear the Minister of State for Steel Development say he knows nothing about the Federal Government Policy on CNG propelled vehicles. The madness I see here is that of Ministers who don’t understand policies not protesters.
@benmurraybruce And I hope unlike any other, it will be completed. Let’s praise it then. For now it may just be one of those projects wonderfully conceptualised and woefully executed.
@YAABichi @LilBrownGO @atiku@OfficialPDPNig Tur Aku is a man of his words. He will re-thread this nation and assign responsibilities to capable people who can deliver on his social contract. To survive as a country, this is our best chance.
@Pres_Adebayo I am deeply saddened by the passing of this great human being. He was a patriot and an enduring benefactor. His last visit to Ondo certainly marked the end of an era in Yoruba history.
@Pres_Adebayo None of these doctrines make a good man. The jacket does not make a Monk. Religious don’t define people. Nelson Mandela died an example of a man who dedicated his entire life to serving his people. He was not religious.
@NafdacAgency If this is still Nigeria then the owners of Eva water have not been paying their dues. If the sachet water I am holding is NAFDAC approved then Eva water must have contained plutonium to be recalled.
What nature does to the environment can never be equaled by human efforts at degrading it. Check out the lava spewing from Hawaii’s volcanoes into the Pacific Ocean. Unbelievable.
