#BREAKING: FOUR ARMED MEN ATTEMPT TO ABDUCT STANDARD GROUP EDITOR IN NAKURU
Standard Group Associate Editor Alex Kiprotich narrowly escaped an attempted abduction by four armed men driving a Toyota Probox early Saturday.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions between the media house and President William Ruto, who days earlier accused The Standard of publishing “extortionist propaganda” against his administration.
President Ruto’s remarks, posted on X, condemned the Group’s coverage and alleged financial misconduct.
In response, Standard Group CEO Chaacha Mwita warned that the government would be held accountable for any harm to its staff, citing unpaid state advertising debts amounting to KSh1.2 billion.
The attempted abduction has intensified concerns over press freedom and journalist safety, with observers linking the ordeal to the ongoing dispute between State House and the media house.

I stand with this incredibly brave, selfless, outspoken role model of mine. The cowards after her are even more cowards than we thought. Time is coming when we will realize we have no choice but to all rise up against these shameless people.
The use of Acoustic weapons on protestors should worry every Kenyan, since a State that can test painful sound on citizens today can test worse things tomorrow. Kenyans are yet to realize what they are dealing with.
Kagadi residents up in arms as MP Dennis Namara prioritises Parliament Act amendment over roads, health
A section of his constituents argue that the legislator (@NamaraDennisMP) should instead focus on pressing local issues, including poor road networks, inadequate infrastructure in schools and health facilities, limited access to clean water, and unreliable electricity supply in his constituency.

Harold Kaija stood up at the UHRC torture dialogue and said: "Sam Mugumya can't even walk. Lukwago is at Mulago Hospital—not by choice." UHRC blocked him. Silenced him. Told him to stop naming victims.
A commission meant to protect human rights is now protecting the regime from embarrassment.

Kenya had a Bill. The Bill had a bill and the bill was paid in insults. Yet the account is still open. That is not a riddle. That is a Tuesday morning in Kenya, where the President took to social media, addressed a media shareholder by name, called his newspaper’s journalism extortion and blackmail, and invited the institution to do its worst.

🚨📢| Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of the Iranian national team, has come out strongly
to condemn VAR and the World Cup officials:
🗣Amir Ghalenoei,
“If you don’t want us to participate in the World Cup, just say it,” he effectively said. Disallowing that goal was completely uncalled for-it was a clear goal, not offside. I feel like the entire football world is against us. Iran fought with everything they had, and the world saw it.”
