🎉It's here!
Join us tomorrow, April 14th via #LinkedinAudio with Akua Serwaa Agyapong & Emmanuel Delali Fayorsey, hosted by Kezia Asiedua Sanie at 6PM GMT as we discuss, "Safe Schools, Bright Futures: Protecting Ghanaian Children from School-Related Abuse." #VeronicasVeil
As a part of the #Y4Hproject, which is co-funded by the European Union in Ghana and implemented by @MarieStopes_Gh and @YagGhana , I had the privilege to join a panel discussion on Gender-Based Violence.
The timing of such discussions couldn't have been more appropriate, given the recent public outrage over the marriage between a child of conflicting reported ages from 12 - 16 years and a 63-year-old man, a chief priest who represents a deity in Ghana.
It is crucial to note that the law respects cultural practices, however the constitution is supreme and any law that's repugnant to the Constitution is deemed void. Both the 1992 Constitution and the 1998 Children's Act establish the legal age for marriage at 18 for both girls and boys.
Child marriage is a problem we can't solve if we don't talk about it. Together, let's protect Ghana's children and end the harmful practice of child marriage.

It is essential to recognize that no one is more responsible for our health than ourselves. We must make informed decisions to ensure we maintain good health. Some of these decisions include practising healthy eating habits and regular exercise.
Let us champion sexual and reproductive health and rights for all as the path to a sustainable future where everyone can realize their potential.
