I'm a second-generation bookseller. My family runs Houston's largest used & rare bookstore and I'm building an AI tool for used bookstores. We got hit by exactly these orders, including a single order for 70 obscure books that made us pause online sales entirely. So I dug in. I don't think this connects the way people want it to.
Every ingredient of the viral story is true. ISBNdb really does advertise sourcing books for AI companies. Anthropic really did destructively scan millions of books though they were mostly acquired through things like library deaccessions, not bookstore inventory. And booksellers really are getting bizarre bulk orders. But "rare" here isn't what you're picturing. It's The Insider's Guide to Metro Denver (1995) and how-to-use-WordPerfect 1991 manuals. Obscure, but often not precious.
When we combed through our orders, nearly every book bought from us was either unavailable on Amazon or listed there at 5, 10, 20x our price on the platform they were purchased on. And the shipments are going to FBA prep companies: which is what you do with a book you're about to resell, not one you're about to cut apart. There is more than circumstantial evidence that this is a well-funded company running algorithmic arbitrage, buying underpriced or out-of-stock books to relist on Amazon at markup. This evidence includes an official denial that they are selling to train AI but I don't want to mention them for several reasons. You can Google it.
That's more mundane than the shredder story. The actual risk is worse, though, because it's quieter: books that don't sell via FBA eventually get liquidated. If we really hold the last copies of some of these (and comparing platforms, it looks like we might) we're feeding them into a portal they may not come back from. No AI company required.
Everyone assumes the internet preserved everything. It didn't. Many of these books have almost no metadata anywhere, just a scattered listings across proprietary databases then nothing. That's what my project is for: building better bibliographic records for these books than exist anywhere else, so we at least have a map of what we stand to lose. So the Library of Alexandria is still burning, just more slowly, and kore from “who cares” than from some cinematic villain.
(I am open to being corrected.)

What's crazy is that we... meaning a few other independent journalists...weren't Einstein for crying out loud. We were just asking serious questions and getting answers that were completely true...but because it didn't fit what the mob was selling and the national press...we were shadowbanned. Attacked. Called conspiracy theorists. Attacked for defending Trump. All we were doing was reporting the damn truth. and me
Dr Fauci and Mr. Science
The Fauci files reveal not just a sociopathic narcissist, but also a pathological schizophrenic.
For years, Fauci was assuring the public of Covid narratives that he either knew were untrue, or knew little about.
He posed as a non-partisan, even as he collaborated with the leftwing cable news grandees and liberal columnists to hound his enemies and magnify his godhead.
From the virus’s origins and effects of the lockdowns, to the efficacy of the mRNA vaccinations to the always changing 0/1/2 masks wearing protocols, Fauci used his massive government agency, and sycophantic media, to promote his always fluid narratives by punishing enemies and rewarding friends—on the basis of their loyalty to Dr. “I represent science”.
He seemed to be obsessed with firing White House Covid advisor Scott Atlas, and demonizing Jay Bhattacharya, Sunetra Gupta and Martin Kulldorff—for the crimes of questioning the Fauci party line.
These critics were not radical “let it rip” herd immunologists as the Fauci camp caricatured them, but circumspect, cost-to-benefit doctors and savvy health policy analysts.
Their views, if embraced, might have avoided a multibillion-dollar global shutdown that wrecked economies—especially derailing the booming 4th quarter 2019 Trump economy—increased the death toll, destroyed millions of livelihoods, harmed perhaps permanently the education of millions U.S. children, and was hardly based on the “science”.
And what exactly were the so-called extremist views of Atlas, Bhattacharya, and others?
Healthy children were not at great risk from Covid—but keeping them isolated drained away key resources from the elderly and sick who certainly were vulnerable.
And the nationwide school closures had profound negative effects on children and teens as did the lockdowns on the general population.
Substance and familial abuse soared, small businesses were ruined, and children’s formative educational years were lost.
24/7 mask wearing was neither practical nor necessary as opposed to their beneficial use by health care workers in close proximities.
The experimental mRNA vaccinations may have initially saved lives, but they were not, as billed by Fauci and the pharmaceutical companies, lasting protection from either infectiousness or being infected.
And certainly the repeated booster regimens for some could pose serious health risks.
Herd immunity was not some crank idea, as the Fauci school libeled these experts, but, along with the initial vaccinations, were time-tested medical realities that would mitigate the toxicity of the pandemic.
We have seen a lot of obscene hoaxes recently that changed national events: the loony Jussie Smollett caper; the phony “Steele dossier”; the “51 intelligence authorities” and the Russian-produced Hunter Biden laptop con; and the media fabricated effigy of Joe Biden as “fit as a fiddle”.
But Fauci’s effort to attribute the virus to a bat or pangolin publicly, while privately accepting from his own consultants that it likely was birthed in the Wuhan lab’s gain of function research—which he had helped to support via Peter Daszak—and the policies that resulted from that initial lie, proved literally for thousands a matter of life and death.
🚨 NEW: Fox’s @BritHume speaks out on the Fauci diaries: “It reveals two things. Fauci didn’t really believe the stuff he was saying in terms of the origin of the disease. And he denied repeatedly that he was urging any shutdowns. These documents prove otherwise. He brags about getting NYC to shut down and California to do the same thing. He was very much the architect of what I called at the time the ‘worst public policy decision of my lifetime.’ I think it was.”
The following Republican Senators are on board with NO RECESS until the SAVE America Act is passed:
✅ Senator Mike Lee
✅ Senator Rick Scott
✅ Senator Jim Banks
✅ Senator Ashley Moody
✅ Senator Darline Graham
✅ Senator Tommy Tuberville
✅ Senator Bill Hagerty
This quote from @rachelbovard should be distributed far and wide because it dispels some of the most harmful and widely believed myths about the filibuster:
“Cloture is not a requirement nor is it a permission slip to vote. It’s merely a mechanism to end debate — it is now bizarrely filed in every single debatable motion before debate ever begins. Yes, the world’s greatest deliberative body moves to shut down deliberation before ever beginning.”
Let the Senate be the Senate again!
Dr. Fauci’s diary is proof of a man completely drunk on his own celebrity. He was literally gloating that people thought he was "more sexy than Tyra Banks" while MILLIONS of people were dying. And it looks like he knew exactly why they were dying, and it wasn't the wet market. Fauci knew all along that COVID came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, just like we exposed years ago.
When he sits down in front of Congress later this week, I’m not sure the autopen can save him this time. He can’t repeat the old narrative under oath without committing a fresh crime, and I doubt his pride will let him admit he lied. That leaves him with only one way out: pleading the Fifth, which would expose the whole facade.
The judges NEVER looked at the evidence.
They just blocked it.
They said “too early,” then “too late.”
“No standing.” “Moot.” No real discovery.
Then they told America, “See, no evidence!”
That’s JUDICIAL MALFEASANCE – a fancy term that means the judges HELPED cover up the election crime.
Our elections are called CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE – when they attack our elections, they attack our whole country.

🥊THE GLOVES ARE OFF: 3 more Senators join Mike Lee & Rick Scott to REJECT August Recess until SAVE America is passed!
✔️ Ashley Moody
✔️ Tommy Tuberville
✔️ Jim Banks
This is a start, but why do we only have 5 senators joining? All 53 should be on board!
Pass it NOW!
Make the Senate work again. Make the Senate have real filibusters. Make the Senate explain why it’s okay for non Americans to decide elections in America.
Wow. And Trump was right. Fauci and Birx did destroy us because they were incompetent, scared, and egomaniacal, and the worst part is that the same insane restrictions we already knew didn’t work continued in some places for *years* after this
I didn’t come to the United States Senate because I needed something to do.
I’m serving because there are things we need to get done for the American People.
The Senate needs to stay in session until we can get the SAVE America Act to the floor and passed.
🚨US Attorney Boyle is coming in HOT, he’s leading the prosecution of James Comey in North Carolina and sounds determined on putting him away.
He just made it crystal clear: Comey gets ZERO special treatment. No deep state protection. No sweetheart deals.
Fauci's private diary. March 2020.
March 21 — "deaths 9800":
"Big front page article about me appeared in the Washington Post. Very flattering."
"my national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable"
"It is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country and one of the most recognizable persons in the world."
March 22 — "Cases continue to soar. 30,000 in USA with 400 deaths":
"Press is going wild with me."
"Front page in Washington Post yesterday and Op Ed by Maureen Dowd in NY Times today about me."
"Profile by Peter Nicholas on me in The Atlantic."
He tracked the body count and his press clippings on the same page.
