@BillPlaschke No - LA is arguably the worst. NY, Chicago, Dallas, etc have way better fan bases for their respective teams and it’s not even close. Quit trying to push the narrative and just acknowledge that sports in LA is just another “attraction”.
@BigTenTed He destroyed his own argument. It will be better with “better opponents”. That’s where we are different here in “flyover country”. We don’t need a great opponent to support our schools, we just show up no matter who is playing. Maybe they could learn a thing or two.
@BrooksAustinBA It is just a classic case of special pleading from the USC side. Everyone else has a football stadium, surrounded by corn and beans. We don’t do anything else. Just watch football and farm.
@thesportscuz So… just special pleading? You never make the “LA has too much to do” argument when the team is playing someone good or are somewhat successful. Teams like OSU, Bama, etc show out regardless of the situation.
@dbailey_18 This is just special pleading…. USC fans are quite literally fair weather - when you win/are good/have a somewhat big matchup, you never use the “LA has more to do” argument. ND, UGA, Bama etc still have incredible turn out regardless of record and opponent.
@ArashMarkazi Fair weather fans. The Midwest and South just care more about supporting college athletics compared to the Western side of the country. The “LA heat” is way more tolerable than brutal Midwest winters and we still sit through it. It’s not sheep, it’s just support. We are different
Our fanbase has to be better about not bashing coaches and current players. Just because guys leave and thrive or someone looks good versus weak opponents, doesn’t mean our program failed. Too much hate and our season hasn’t even started. #Buckeyes
@NeilRausch@SpencerHolbrook Huh? Wouldn’t it be the opposite? The guy was in the system for that long and is going to be a stud elsewhere. Just because he is shining in a different system, doesn’t mean OSU somehow failed..
@AzBuckGuy What? Based off of which OSU game film from this year? Maybe give the guy a shot before calling him a “Temu Luke Wafle”. We will see how Wafle does against actual competition this year. Our season hasn’t even started yet, relax.
@casualbigten And it will only get better for all of us going forward. The dominance of the Big Ten has started. Maybe if it actually starts to “mean more” then they will be competitive with us again?
