Attention Ely area
**Evacuation in effect in the area of Lindskog and the southern-most part of North Arm Rd. Wildfire 1/4 mile from
road.**
Multiple fire departments are on scene that include Morse-Fall Lake, Ely, Babbit, DNR Eagles Nest and the U.S. Forest Service.
Currently have 8 active fires in the County. The fires are in Greenwood Twsp, Cotton area, Cook area, Gilbert area, Portage Twsp, Babbitt area. A couple of evacuations have taken place. These fires are in rural areas with sparse population.
Fire crews are working a wildland fire outside of Babbitt where a couple of homes have been evacuated. No further evacuations necessary and Babbitt is not at risk at this time.
We are monitoring about eight fires throughout the county. All are under control at this time with the exception of a larger fire near Gilbert. Air Support is helping suppress that fire and no evacuations are necessary at this time. Please remain vigilant and stay safe

On Tuesday, February 10, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for reckless driving on Grand Avenue and 59th Avenue West in Duluth. The vehicle fled, and a short time later was stopped in the 7900 block of Grand Ave
During the incident, shots were fired by two deputies and the driver was struck. Deputies immediately provided first aid; however, lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Had breakfast with deputies working north county today. These guys cover a national park, the boundary waters, an international border, some of the largest mines in the USA in over 5,000 miles in their rugged area. I am so thankful for them and the important work they do!

**Evacuation Order for the Three Lakes Road/
Munger Shaw Road Fire**
Due to fire movement residents south of Comstock Road, west of Upper Bug Lake Rd, East of Lily Lake, and North of Wood Tick are to evacuate safely out of the area.
A public hotline has been established by the United States Forest Service for questions about Camp House or Jenkins Creek fires

A third large fire is burning currently on both sides of Munger Shaw Road south of Three Lakes Road moving quickly in a northern direction. Residents in the east half of Cotton Township including Morley Beach Rd, Elde Road and surrounding areas should evacuate.
Evacuation update:
Due to rapidly evolving fire conditions, residents on the west side of Highway 44 from Indian lake to Breda lake are to evacuate to the south for their safety. Evacuees can go to the Friedenberg Township community center located at. 5104 Fish Lake Road
