Yesterday, Special Agent in Charge, R. Joseph Rothrock, spoke at a press conference hosted by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office regarding law enforcement operations that targeted human trafficking and child exploitation during the FIFA World Cup 2026. SAC Rothrock focused on the importance of partnerships in effectively combatting these crimes.

Partnerships are at the core of the work FBI Indianapolis carries out every day. Since the start of the year, we’ve worked alongside local, state, and federal partners across Indiana to help protect the communities we serve.

Through collaboration and information sharing, these partnerships strengthen our collective ability to prevent crime, support victims, and hold offenders accountable.

In the first three months of the year, together we have:

• Made more than 70 arrests of violent criminals
• Located 18 children
• Partnered with multiple agencies on advanced cell phone data analysis

Examples of this collaboration include:

• Assisting the Lafayette Police Department in identifying and arresting five individuals
involved in the shooting of a Tippecanoe County judge and his wife
• Working with the Fishers Police Department to locate a violent fugitive in Egypt and extradite him to the United States
• Partnering with the Gary Police Department to identify and arrest a human trafficker connected to multiple victims

According to the NYPD, outside of Gracie Mansion, at 11:00 am est two protests, one initial and the other a counter protest, took place. During this protest an individual identified as Amir Balat, lit and threw an improvised explosive device, fit with nuts and bolts at protesters that landed near NYPD officers and extinguished itself. After, Balat ran to another individual, Ibrahim Nick, grabbed another device and dropped the device without it going off. After examination from the bomb squad, the nuts, bolts, and screws, along with a hobby fuse were discovered.

The NYPD claims that as of right now they do not know if any “energetic material” was included in the makeup of the devices. The NYPD says that there is no indication that the use of the devices is connected to the ongoing operations against Iran.
The devices are still being examined and the investigation is ongoing.

The UAE Ministry of Defense reports that air-defenses across the country are currently working to counter a ballistic missile barrage from Iran.

In the past hour Saudi Arabia’s leader, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has spoken to his counterparts in Lebanon, Syria, and Oman, with Syria going as far as to condemn the Iranian strikes against Saudi Arabia.

According to military officials who spoke to the NYT, the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) was steaming south of Italy on Sunday, heading east towards the Eastern Mediterranean. However, this means that the Ford Carrier Strike Group is not currently together, as the USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG-81), who is serving as Air Defense Commander for the Strike Group, only just transited the Strait of Gibraltar.
