@DaveWessels Not anymore Dave they are genuinely looking like getting 800mil per annum from tv rights alone… talk of buying super league and exspand if in the uk too.
@kinson88@brumby_fan@iainpayten@JWDrennan@StanSportAU@StanSportRugby@SMHsport@wwos After being apparently abandoned last year The giteau law was seemingly reinstated by RA a few weeks ago but then subsequent comments from Schmidt suggest there is “wriggle room”. Do you guys know what the actual policy is and which OS players are targeted for selection ?
@anonymousSA1972@rugby_ap@brumby_fan SA are in a golden period and they don’t last forever. This is the peak and your surplus was only R100mil…. Rugby may be strong numerically in SA but not financially. The French union is broke despite domestic success, There is a financial reality here ppl need to understand it
@Forest__O_O@rugby_ap@brumby_fan Scroll Down, I’m Talking about tests mate. Your clubs sides are all subsidises by the boks, R100mil (your profit) is nothing. if you think the sanzar games are worth less than that then you just don’t know what your talking about. 1 home test would be worth close to R100
@Tobias_Everton@rugby_ap@brumby_fan Tobias I’m genuinely not trying to be rude but South Africa is not a wealthy enough nation to go it alone and survive financially. Rugby needs all unions strong, if soccer was about to conquer South Africa it would be in nz /aus interest to support sa. The division helps no one
@Tobias_Everton@rugby_ap@brumby_fan Wow this is nearsighted. How much of that is due to their sanzar revenue? Quite a bit mate. Your club teams are in Europe and all make a loss, would the boks really turn a profit if they had no sanzar revenue? Could you subsist without even the all blacks tests? Not a chance
@rugby_ap You do realise that if league really did conquer union in the pacific your union would go bankrupt? You need all unions to survive for any one union to turn a profit. The isolationism is self so defeating it is astounding to hear especially from a poor country like South Africa
@jim_demps@brumby_fan This is pathetic mate I can see two (Ross and hodgeman) who were recruited as pros (maybe ire?) and although he was recruited from school you could also say nella. The rest came from migration or league. It’s dead set racist to say the migrants aren’t Aussie - pull ya head in
@balumbah The wallabies flyhalf discussions have been ridiculous this year. Donaldson is clearly the form flyhalf in super but you don’t hear that. He is ahead on goal kicking alone. I’m curious to see lyngnah and interested in lolesio personally but Donaldson is killing it
@clwelch94@ReadingThePlay Could not agree with this more, so annoying not seeing the utilities get used as well, deprives the game of an interesting tactical element
@CapitanTed@brumby_fan Mate your a dead shit, there are hundreds of thousands of Australians with pacific island heritage. Suggesting the pacifika players aren’t really Australia is borderline racist - The only current wallaby that was poached is tupou and that happened more than a decade ago
