May the Fourth ….
… wouldn’t be possible without unions.
Without writers.
Without actors.
Without directors.
Without crew.
Without composers.
Without teamsters.
Without all of the work of a thousand voices, there would be no Force.
May the fourth be with all of us.
Hopping back on here to discover my blue check’s gone (buh-bye!), and to amplify what the @WGAWest is up against in this strike. As a 10+ year member of @sagaftra I’m proud to stand in solidarity on the picket line! #WritersStrike2023#wgastrong
I'm incredibly proud of how transparent our union is. In the @WGAWest's strike announcement, we included a list of our proposals, and the AMPTP's responses. Read it for yourself: it explains in black and white we're forced to go on strike.
This is truly, simply what the WGA strike is about: do you detect a difference b/t the shows you stream (through Roku, your laptop, etc) and the ones you watch through a cable box? Bc we do the same work for both, but we take a HUGE paycut for streaming shows. 1/3
On Tuesday my mid child will be 6.5 years old.
I will be exactly 6 months away from paying off my 20% portion of her $1.2mil birth.
We can't be deciding as a country to force carrying pregnancies when we wont provide insurance that covers the cost.
