PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA DISMISSES MINISTER TOLASHE
President @CyrilRamaphosa has in terms of section 91(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa,1996, removed Minister Sisisi Tolashe from the position of Minister of Social Development.
In the interim, President Ramaphosa has appointed Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Sindisiwe Chikunga as the acting minister in the portfolio pending a full-time appointment in due course.

The African National Congress (ANC) has noted and welcomes the Constitutional Court judgment in the matter between the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the Speaker of the National Assembly. The judgment, delivered as South Africa marks 30 years of its democratic Constitution, reaffirms the principles of accountability, transparency, constitutional oversight and the importance of institutional checks and balances within our constitutional democracy.
The ANC welcomes the judgment handed down today in the Phala Phala matter and the clarity it provides regarding Section 89 parliamentary processes. As a movement founded on constitutionalism and the rule of law, we respect the judiciary and its processes. The judgment reaffirms the importance of allowing institutions to function independently within our constitutional democracy.
