Dolly was a global cultural icon whose seven-decade career reached generations of fans. Beyond entertainment, Dolly leaves a significant philanthropic legacy through the Dollywood Foundation and Imagination Library, which has provided hundreds of millions of books to children worldwide.

Ha muerto Dolly Parton, la Reina del Country, uno de los más grandes íconos de este género musical. Tenía 80 años. Mírala aquí cantando ‘I Will Always Love You’, escrita y grabada originalmente por ella en 1973, antes de la versión de Whitney Houston. Y, aunque suele interpretarse como una canción romántica, en realidad nació como una despedida profesional a Porter Wagoner, su mentor y compañero artístico durante varios años. Parton quería dejar su programa y continuar su carrera en solitario; ante las tensiones que provocó esa decisión, escribió la canción como una forma afectuosa de decirle que se marchaba, pero que conservaría su cariño y gratitud.

La grabación original se realizó el 12 de junio de 1973 en el RCA Studio B de Nashville, con producción de Bob Ferguson. Después apareció en el álbum ‘Jolene’, publicado en febrero de 1974, y posteriormente fue lanzada como sencillo. La versión de Dolly llegó al n.º 1 de la lista country de Billboard en 1974.
