And many folks who play do want to be someone else because they're so unhappy or even some think they were born in the wrong era. It's those folks I can see as who the article points to

@KSPrior @RNS As a LARPer, and a Christian, I have found that these communities are laden with hurt people that need Jesus, and having played for so long, it has given me many opportunities to show the love of Jesus, hear their stories, and opened lots of conversational doors.
