Our Project Manager and Occupational Therapist, Evas, is pictured here with baby Ricky. These 1 to 1 therapy sessions help children with cerebral palsy improve their mobility and strength.
To help generate more therapy sessions like these, consider pledging @ Give 2022:
"This is 3-year-old Moses, who was born with genu varum or, as it's commonly known, 'bow legs'. He's since had his operation at CORSU which the project was able to fully support and is now in recovery.
To heal more children , please consider giving to Give 2021"
Remember Obed and Dismas? These two brothers both had bi-lateral clubfoot and now have healed from their operation at CORSU. We're praising God for how He's worked in their lives.
It's amazing the difference a single chilli can make. Here you see the community chilli growers, who are overseen by Victory, learning to plant and grow.
Stella first went to CORSU hospital in early 2021 with Blount's disease, a condition which affects the growth plates of the knee. Now, by the grace of God, she has become a village testimony of healing.
These children from the rural Kanungu district recently traveled to Mbarara to be measured for specialty support chairs. These unique chairs allow children with cerebral palsy to sit upright independently. This gives the children's parents some much-needed respite.
Because of the nature of some of the conditions we treat at the Project, there may be times where children pass away. The Project representatives always try to attend the burials in these instances so they can be among the community and witness about the life-changing work.
This is Daphine from the Kabale district. She has mesomelic dysplasia, which is a condition that, sadly, has no cure. However, the orthopedic surgery she underwent at the CORSU hospital has allowed her to regain some functionality in her legs, improving her quality of life.
Every two months, children with neurological conditions like hydrocephalus, microcephaly, epilepsy and spina bifida travel to Mbarara to pick medications. Thankfully, the project's ambulance makes this trip comfortable and smooth for both the children and caregivers.
In a regular day, we will see many children come through to hospital for therapy or counselling. We're immensely thankful to Mission Direct and our donors for helping us construct the Project Offices and Rehab Centre.
Some families aren't aware of the project or are afraid due to cultural concerns. That's where our Field Extension Workers come in. For example, Victory came across this child with genu varum and was able to convince the family to travel to CORSU for surgery. What a great help!
Two year-old, Chloe, came to the project with severe burns on her right leg, resulting in limited mobility. We were able to provide her with a surgery to release the contractures. And judging by her beautiful smile, she couldn't be more pleased about that!
