@brendan_cubs The Cubs led the league by a significant margin in failing to get runners home from 3B with less than 2 outs. So I would say this is definitely a flaw of the offense when you can pitch in certain locations of the zone and get weak rollover contact or pop outs (or strikeouts).

The 2026 Cubs have had 340 opportunities to score a runner from 3B with less than 2 outs and have failed on 149 of those opportunities. 60% success rate is 26th in MLB. Their 149 failures are 21 more than the next worst team in these situations. The data backs up what we see.

@PFF It is asinine to count a free play on an offsides penalty where many QBs would take a risk they normally wouldn’t take. What did you grade the “low” throw to Kalif Raymond? although it seems “inaccurate” and he had to dive, the ball was thrown there to prevent an INT or breakup.

@SamOlbur It’s time to give Triantos a real shot. Ramirez is bad in the field and has not been hitting since playing every day. He has very little to no power. Conforto should be DFA. Between those 2 and Happ, that’s 3 automatic outs.
