@BradMiller1010 From my experience, field grades and above in today's Army aren't known for much self-reflection or original thought. Sticking to my West Point and Army values only ever got me into trouble with these types.
You and the few who responded similarly to COVID are exceptions.
2️⃣5️⃣ years ago today, our country was attacked.
On 9/11, I was in my 3rd year at West Point, only 60 miles from WTC. I took 9/11 personally. I was horrified by the brazen nature of the attack & loss of innocent life. My time at West Point became more focused & I felt vindicated I had chosen the military.
It wasn't until about 2007, and after my first deployment to Afghanistan in which I truly believed I was fighting terrorists for God & Country, that I began to realize we had been lied to.
I began to learn that this horrifying event had been orchestrated & perpetrated by elements deep within our own govt. The implications were devastating: that I, as a military officer, might not actually be fighting for what I had assumed I had been fighting for. I wrestled with this for another few years and came very close to leaving the Army. Ultimately, I convinced myself to stay in because I thought the military (and nation) needed good people in uniform to counter the villainy of those seeking to destroy the country from within.
That changed with the covid operation. The scope of that operation dwarfed 9/11 (which itself is much deeper than many realize). With the covid op, I realized the problem was so much worse than I had realized (and I had long known it was bad). I began to see that the govt was completely captured and that the military, as an institution (certainly not everyone in it), had become an enemy to its own troops, the American people, & the Constitution.
At that point, I knew I had to take off the uniform. I couldn't reconcile continued military service with the oath I had taken to support and defend the Constitution. I didn't want to continue to receive a salary or retirement pension from the military because I considered it blood money. I wanted nothing more to do with the institution or those leading it.
I left the military after 19+ years of active service. In a very real sense, I resigned from the military after the covid op because I had NOT had the resolve to do so after realizing the lies of 9/11. This time, the magnitude of evil within the US govt, and specifically the DoD, was so apparent that I considered it to be both morally indefensible & strategically unhelpful to remain in uniform.
My immediate skepticism of the covid op was largely informed by my understanding of 9/11 (and similar instances of large govt lies). Similarly, our rearward perspective of 9/11 should now be informed by what we all experienced during the covid op. Our govt will deliberately plan, rehearse, and execute a complex, coordinated military operation to kill its own citizens (and others around the world), shred constitutional limitations on govt power, and plunder the wealth of the many while maximizing profits for the few.
If we had all realized to a greater degree what really happened on 9/11, we could have refused to accept & participate in the lies. We could have refused to have our love of country weaponized against us. We could have refused to go along with the following two decades of war. We could have made the operational environment far less fertile for future such events against the American people.
In essence, if we had recognized 9/11 for what it was & refused to go along with the lie, I truly believed we could have made the covid op far less likely.
But we didn't. Too many Americans, including myself for the first few years, went along with the fake narrative, which made future events like the covid op more likely.
When will we learn our lesson? Either we will refused to prop up evil & the lies evil perpetuates, or we will be destroyed.
I truly believe the 3 months after Labor Day are going to be epic.
Wild swings in the market.
Political clashes over midterms.
Chaos in the Middle East/Ukraine
The bond market continues to pressure yields.
Inflation worries.
AI jitters
Japan/yen
Buckle up!
@camhigby Government cameras that zoom, focus, read, and report are NOTHING like public view.
Conceding that flock cameras view citizens with the lense of suspicion is madness.
Absent a warrant, every one of these flock searches is an unwanted warrantless government intrusion.
Society has plunged too far into the physical world—the measurable, the material, the immediately visible—while dismissing the spiritual, the sacred, and the reality of the soul.
And when a society loses its spiritual and moral framework, it begins to lose its sense of what is truly sacred. People chase power, pleasure, and primal desires at the expense of others, while those who see the darkness too often remain neutral.
What happened to this woman and her children isn’t simply an isolated tragedy. It is part of a deeper sickness: what happens when a society loses its connection to the soul, the sacredness of life, and the responsibility to stand against darkness.
There is no fence left to sit on.
“Do not let the desire of beauty conquer you; neither be caught by her eyes, nor captivated by her eyelids; For the value of a prostitute is only one loaf, and such a woman hunts for the precious souls of men.”
