this fandom has truly lost the plot. i remember back when we were so eager to hear namjoon give his album breakdowns and share with us the backstories of how the songs came to be and what the central themes and messages the guys wanted to convey. now people are questioning everything he says and calling him a liar and trying to imply he’s “playing in our face” all because he’s disproving whatever ridiculous narratives you’ve created in your head.

the problem many of you continue to have is you constantly project your opinions and insecurities onto the guys and then question them when they don’t repeat those same viewpoints and validate your narratives.

yes, art is subjective however when the artist himself is telling you exactly what a song means because he would know since he’s one of the people who created it, believe him.

as a fandom we used to take pride in bts’ lyricism and messaging and now it feels as though people are either taking it for granted or being completely dismissive. and it’s understandable why namjoon would say what he’s said about the state of the music industry today.

these days the music industry is less about artistry and poetry and more about trends and algorithms for the sake of entertainment and quick success. bts are trying their best to preserve art in its purest form unfortunately not just outside forces by also those within their own fandom aren’t just resisting it but are constantly questioning bts’ art.

much of the critiques about ARIRANG are less constructive criticism and more outright disrespect.
