· Fact: A fundamental principle of democracy is that the state is not synonymous with the nation. Criticizing the government is an act of patriotism, not enmity. It is a service to the nation aimed at improving governance and preventing the abuse of power.

It’s this sad mentality of man worshipping idiots that make some people to have the mentality of being placed higher than the law and hence they play god.
Afe Babalola, like any other Nigerian deserves respect for his contribution to the country and also for his age. These however does not turn him into a god or deity that cannot be subject to criticism irrespective of what he may do wrong.
Because Ekiti State Governor prostrated to him does not put him above the reach of character and conduct assessments or be shielded from strong words of resentment or criticism of any of his deficiencies either in actions or statements.
He can weird all the powers and might he can garner against Mr Dele Farotimi, but he cannot cage, gag or imprison the legions of objectively minded people who condemns his despicable use of and misuse of the institutions of govt agencies like the police when he is aware that his actions represent oppression.
It’s strange that many Nigerians are losing their respect in old age, at the stage where they should be revered for being exemplary role models. How are the mighty falling. It’s a big disgrace.
After all this shenanigans, Dele Rotimi will still come out better and stronger with many supporters behind him.
The loser will be those agents of Satan and darkness who support evil to sustain oppression to the detriment of the country.
So, be mindful of the spirit behind your ideas and sentiment.
