hi, i'm saint! i'm an artist working in commissions, character + creature design, fannish illustrations and generally finding ways to adapt historical and specific styles for projects.

@CircuitNSorcery considering - I didn't get into artist alley at all, but it's so close to where I am it might be fun to just go up for a day or so and see if I get off the wait-list
@EvelynBenvie@mayakern yeah, same problem here, white collar work - I can wear the skirts to work no problem, but they're right on the line of professionalism, and a cropped polo would make me worry that it might get untucked under a skirt / I couldn't wear it with pants at all
When a letter arrives in Winterspring, Melostra finds herself musing on the presence of music in her life.
here it is in full, my comic for Interlude: Harmony! ππ΅ I'm so excited I got to be a part of this project!! π₯Ί
@CircuitNSorcery you look at metzens old sketches and it's obvious what he was inspired by, and the art direction doesn't have annnyyyyy of that old grit and grime anymore
i started having a lot more fun with and confidence in my art/designs when i leaned into what i love (ornament, organic flowing shapes, Just Animals) vs what i thought it should be. it took like 2 years and trusting the unconscious process but these feel Cohesive and Related
@CircuitNSorcery all i do on pinterest is hunt down links to https://t.co/FU5yfQ1yKO books from the 1800s and 1900s about ornamentation and decorative design elements. its a real problem that i have no intention of stopping
i don't NEED to make lasered rubber sheets for polymer clay designs but now that i know i theoretically COULD, not doing it is not an option. i must. i must test it out myself Just To See
3 yrs of makerspace membership and studio arts degree has resulted in
pros : i can identify 9/10 times how an item / craft is made, the supplies you'd need and the tools to do it
cons : i now always go 'well i bet i could just do it myself'
once you understand basic printmaking / sewing / woodworking / digital fabrication material techniques you can look at anything and go 'oh i know what that is'. case in point: these texture sheets are 100% lasered rubber and would cost all of 50c to make myself
