Rain on it own is not harmful to the earth, it can nurture and heal. Ichigo’s rain is a flood full of guilt. Orihime’s rain is what will bring the sun back.

If Kubo wanted to elevate Rukia exclusively he wouldn’t have put Orihime there simultaneously because she didn’t really had a reason to be there unless to show that she is important in that moment too.
