Rahul Gandhi will never attack Nitin Gadkari despite knowing that his sons run an ethanol company whose revenue went from 18 crore to 723 crore in a year, but ill tell you exactly why in a bit.

Gadkari sir is rooting for ethanol blending since 10 years now, this policy literally converts each sugar mill into an ethanol factory.

But who owns the sugar mills of India?

In Maharashtra alone, 104 out of 207 mills are private, and almost every single one is owned by a politician.

Sharad Pawar's late nephew Ajit Pawar controls 6 mills with 58,000 TCD capacity, the biggest sugar baron in the country.

The Vilasrao Deshmukh family runs 10 mills through Manjara Group.

Vijaysinh Mohite Patil, Jayant Patil, Vishwajeet Kadam, the entire Maharashtra Congress and NCP leadership runs sugar empires.

In Karnataka, 33 of 34 private mills are owned by politicians. The Jarkiholi brothers, M B Patil, Murugesh Nirani, Prabhakar Kore, S Shivashankarappa, all Congress, all sugar barons.

Now do you see the problem yet? When ethanol blending goes from 5% to 20%, every single one of these politician-owned mills makes crores in extra revenue.

Gadkari's sons made 700 crore. But the Pawars, the Deshmukhs, the Patils, the Jarkiholis, they ALL made their cut.

The worst part is that these mills dont even pay their bills

The Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtana estimates that of ~180 defaulting mills in Maharashtra, 77 are linked to BJP, 53 to NCP, 43 to Congress and the rest to Shiv Sena leaders

This is not a Gadkari problem. This is a sugar lobby problem that runs across every party. The opposition cannot attack the ethanol policy because their own MLAs would be the next target.

It’s just so frustrating how dumb some IT processes are with banks. For years, nay decades I’ve been using @ICICIBank @ICICIBank_Care savings account. It’s linked to my PAN and Aadhar, obviously. Suddenly to access net banking, the bank says verify your PAN and Aadhar as part of KYC verification.

Fine, I just have to enter the numbers and OTP, so I go ahead.

Guess what, it failed. Basically the PAN and Aadhar numbers are same which have been linked with my bank account and IT dept etc since ages. But same numbers are wrong today as per ICICI. And now :

1. I’ve been asked to go to nearest branch to verify KYC.

2. Upload documents - which I’m unable to, because the account login page takes me to KYC page.

I mean, it’s a big bank and I’m a small customer. So not that they care what’s happening. But the amount of discomfort they cause by doing these things, which are drowning in illogical conditions is very surprising. It’s like all roads lead to - make the customer visit the branch, wait out to show KYC, watch the employee type lot of stuff into the computer, claim some error or glitch and then all is well.

I had to go through same hell when we received a small overseas payment in ICICI business account earlier this year. All documents on place, everything in order, all codes complied to - yet the bank wouldn’t release our payment for nearly two weeks with an excuse - there is some issue and we are waiting approval from higher office. Just that. And after submitting same documents again, because we can’t really make new things up, after 12-15 days, it got resolved. We still don’t know what was wrong and how it got corrected.

As I said, it’s a big bank, and we are small customers. The harassment is part of the culture !

Case Today : He was a staunch believer of women's rights. Wrote about women's issues as a writer. Belonging from a traditional Indian family, opted for an arranged marriage. Did not take a penny in dowry as he was strongly against it

First day of his marriage & his wife told him she loves someone else and since her lover was from a different caste, her parents didn't allow her to marry him. She asked him for divorce. Taken aback, he tried to convince her to forget the past and move on. She vehemently denied.

He told her father. He refused to believe. Told him there is no way there will be a divorce. He accepted it as his fate and cohabited with his wife. She became abusive. First verbal abuse. Then physical abuse. Then complete mental torture daily. Her ex boyfriend would call and no one could say a word. She left when she wanted, came back when she wanted. No relationship with the husband whatsoever. He felt trapped but didn't know what to do

One day, she became so aggressive that she beat him up & his mother also black and blue. He has evidence of the assault. He decided to report it to police and went to police station.

His father-in-law begged him not to file an FIR & promised to resolve the matter and get them divorced. But months passed and still nothing happened and abuse of him and his elderly parents continued

Fed up, he filed for divorce. She immediately filed for maintenance. His advocate got sold to the other party and didn't turn up for arguments. Court passed order of 30,000 per month interim maintenance.

She also filed an FIR naming 15 family members in it, not leaving even his close friends, alleging dowry, domestic violence and what not. All cooked stories.

Police removed few names but case is running.

He paid maintenance for some time but then lost his job. Amount accumulated. She pressed for execution of maintenance. Mind it, she's an educated, learned and capable of working woman who chooses to do nothing. And if she's doing anything, she has hidden the same from the court.

So this man is jailed for a month for not paying maintenance. His parents, 75+ year old, sitting thousands of kilometres away know nothing about the torture their son is going through. His friends arrangepd the money somehow borrowing it from people and got him out from Jail after 20 days.

Now the money has accumulated again and he has sword of jail hanging on his head again. He hasn't been able to get a job because of the criminal case.

Demand of Alimony by woman started with 85 Lacs and has now reached 1 Crore. This middle class man can't gather that money even if he sells everything his parents also own. So he suffers.

It has been 3 years. Divorce hasn't moved an inch. 498A hasn't moved an inch. While the woman gets tax free income every month.
