So, representing this prestigious symbol in the Lanka Premier League logo would be the ideal scenario. Lion is fiercer to show the challenging nature of the T20 format. 5 colors on mane represents the 5 teams. Also work as the abstract version of a wagon wheel.
Lanka Premier League is the most prestigious cricketing league in Sri Lanka and when it comes to the prestige the lion is the most iconic animal for Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan Cricket association & also the Sri Lankan flag gives a significant place for the lion.
Since I went with the multicolor approach (followed the current logo colors closely), I wanted to tackle how the logo will look under any background & color.
Three stumps on the top resembles a crown. The circle on the back represents the cricket ball. Typography is clean and to the point where everyone can understand immediately. Colors choices are made based on current Sri Lankan Cricket association brandings.
So, representing this prestigious symbol in the Lanka Premier League logo would be the ideal scenario.
Overall shape of the lion face roughly resembles the shape of Sri Lanka. Lionβs mane is inspired by a traditional Sri Lankan pattern called βPalapethiβ
