Veteran musician Lou Majaw, also widely known as 'India’s Bob Dylan' joined students of the Nehu Assam Students Association (NASA) in Shillong to pay heartfelt tribute to the late Assamese icon Zubeen Garg, who tragically lost his life in a mishap in Singapore on September 19. Zubeen, aged 52, was supposed to perform at the North East India Festival.
At the gathering, emotional Majaw broke into song with tears in his eyes, calling the loss “a dark night not just for Assam or the Northeast, but for the entire country.”
He further reminded everyone that while Zubeen may have departed, his spirit and music live on: “It’s time for someone to take his torch forward and follow in his footsteps.”
