In 2011, Chinua Achebe compelled 50 Cent to rename his forthcoming movie "Things Fall Apart" after Achebe's legal team intervened, asserting that the title could not be used. Even when 50 Cent offered Achebe $1 million, Achebe rejected the offer, feeling insulted. The movie was subsequently renamed "All Things Fall Apart."
Things Fall Apart novel was published in UK by William Heinemann Ltd. It depicts pre-colonial life in Igbo land and the arrival of Europeans during the late 19th century.
