On the Left:
Sha'carri Richardson, who was banned from the Olympics last time for testing positive for... cannabis
On the right:
Steven van de Velde, who was convicted of raping a 12 year old girl. He is free to compete for the Netherlands Beach Volleyball team this year
GB News presenter Bev Turner and commentator Emma Wolf went to great lengths to defend a convicted child rapists participation in the Olympics
Wolf said “this must be a deeply uncomfortable experience for him”
What about how the family of the child that he raped?
Twelve year olds cannot consent. If this Olympian was gay and the child was male, their stance would perhaps be quite different
Wolf went on to describe the repeated rape of the child as a “very inappropriate holiday romance thing”
A sickening hill to choose to die on
White friends, especially white women who did not have an undergraduate sorority experience:
In the coming months you’ll likely see a great deal of content about VP Harris’ sorority affiliation and the support from its members. We 🩷 it. Some info & tips for us: 🧵

WE ONLY HAVE UNTIL THE END OF JUNE TO TELL @NYCMAYOR #NOCUTSTOLIBRARIES AND SAVE THE LIBRARY.
Yes, her name is Nguyen Nguyen. My grade 6 classmate that sat in front of me. She never spoke to anyone. Not even the teacher. I mean, EVER. But she was brilliant & never needed help with anything. We would walk to school together, & even then—not a single word. Then one day…
Today we honor and remember the innocent lives taken in the devastating events of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. 🙏🏿 @TheGapBand’s name was chosen as tribute to Greenwood, Archer, and Pine streets, paying homage to the vibrant Black community in my hometown of Tulsa, OK. 💪🏿
Just waking up in Cannes with my espresso to see them disrespecting Kelly Rowland last night on the carpet.
The difference is striking in how ‘some’ are rushed off the steps with arms in her face and stepping on her dress and some, they will wait patiently for.
To see Kelly endure prejudice, and yes I know exactly what that was by the videos and photos, is sad. Guess what? We aren’t the problem, when I can count on ONE hand how many Black women are in the audience at Cannes, maybe the problem is ‘some’ of your ignorant poorly trained security and ushers that need to leave their Karen ism at home.
As someone who has visited France for the past 30 years (me) and has seen a wave kick up on racism post ‘someone orange,’ only a Black American woman will understand what Kelly Rowland experienced on the Cannes red carpet.
In past years, not now, because they know I will ‘all the way’ check them, I’ve had to put ‘some’ ignorant Cannes ushers and security in their place as well. I know that Claire Huxtable finger Kelly has up is pointing out someone who wasn’t raised correctly and is acting a fool.
I thought this year was SO much better, because wow they learned, they smiled, they made happy banter, some recognized me from past years, there seemed to be less aggression and scowls coming from them and they also know I do not subscribe to rude behavior.
The message for those disrespecting Kelly is that we will still keep coming back, you will have to see us living our fabulous wealthy Black lives in abundance and if your are a bigot, you will remain in a state of rage.
"I want to make a toast to the new 'Cowboy Carter' album," said Maya Rudolph in her TIME100 Gala toast. "She chose this album to create a conversation about racism in America. About being made to feel like you aren't welcome even in a place where you thought you already were."

A TX man slipped abortion pills to his wife &severely damaged the fetus.
He got sentenced to 180 DAYS & got to keep his law license.
If she had taken the abortion pills voluntarily, she would have been charged with MURDER.
This is about controlling women.
The is the type of photo we may see of white youth, even white adults, who have killed people. Trayvon was killed, his killer free, and we seldom saw photos of this Black boy, full of promise and hope, enjoying space camp. Many of us are working to make the world better, Trayvon.
🧵My best friend (Black woman) & I were pregnant at the same time 18 yrs ago. We both had preeclampsia, hers undiagnosed as her symptoms were written off. I was put on bed rest & hospitalized. She was told to relax. A week after she gave birth, the day my son was born, she died.
