Ours is a functioning democracy with a Constitution rooted in liberal principles to protect and promote life and liberty, of its citizens. Besides, we are a mighty country with the fifth largest economy and fourth in military strength in the world.

And yet, for 16 months, we have failed as a country to protect the life and liberty of our own fellow citizens in Manipur, the 19th State of the Union. Even as I write this, the violence continues.

Incidentally, an international (UN) norm called "The Responsibility to Protect (R2P)" says: "If a state is manifestly failing to protect its populations, the international community must be prepared to take appropriate collective action, in a timely and decisive manner and in accordance with the UN Charter."

When the people in Manipur suffer, it should not be treated as a joke or a spectacle!

Does this man in uniform reflect the quality which is expected of a man who has traversed from being a "gentleman cadet" to being an "officer", and then finally to be a commanding officer dealing with a volatile situation?

This is what we get after a year long suffering, 200+ death, 60000+ homeless. I dont hesitate to say that ur utter disrespect, inaction and partiality is one of the major factors that worsened the situation. N u still ask why we dont want the central forces. Now u know why @adgpi

The ceaseless attack on 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐢 𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 at foothills in Manipur by 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧-𝐊𝐮𝐤𝐢-𝐙𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬, evidently involved the SoO militants, is something the GoI must retrospect and cease the SoO agreement with Kuki Militants.
