Tragedy strikes Moirang Tronglaobi Kuki militants' bomb attack on a civilian house claims the lives of two children; the area is on high alert as authorities rush to respond.

God knows when @PMOIndia @AmitShah will decide to eliminate these parasites.

Our statement on today's development:

"The Meitei Heritage Society strongly condemns today's blockade of the National Highway in Kangpokpi by Chin Kuki protesters and their armed groups, forcing the security forces to respond to restore order.

This is a deeply disturbing and a deliberate act of defiance, which directly challenges the decision of the Union Home Ministry to reopen the highways, a step taken towards restoring peace and normalcy in Manipur.

By obstructing a national lifeline, the protesters have openly defied the authority of the Indian state and continue to hold hostage the people of all communities living in the landlocked valley districts.

This incident comes in the wake of Kuki militant groups rejecting the Manipur Governor’s appeal to surrender arms, further highlighting their unwillingness to work towards a peaceful resolution.

We urge the authorities to take decisive action against those responsible for these blockades, ensuring that free movement and essential supplies are not held hostage by vested interests.

India should not succumb to the handful of militants and groups propped up by them; and demonstrate that those challenging the sovereignty of the Indian state and rule of law will face exemplary action."

Sir,

The current exercise of the govt to recover sophisticated arms that are in the hands of the civilians and militants is hugely welcome .

This though needs to be done in the context and understanding of the following :

1. The many acts of violent attacks (more than 300 incidences) , are committed by the #KukiMilitants and their supporters, where several Meitei villages , Indian security forces and Manipur police were targeted.

2. Meiteis would have ‘NEVER’ looked for arms to defend themselves, if they were not attacked by the #KukiMilitants .

3. Meiteis would have never looked for arms /guns if the 70,000 Indian 🇮🇳 security forces have been able to defend themselves civilians and arrest those perpetrators.

4. More than 90% of the victims of sophisticated armed attacks ( bombs , drones , missiles etc ) are Meiteis or Indian security forces.

Sir , as much as all Meiteis wish for peace and disarmaments, they will due to the above serious circumstances never feel reassured and safe until :

1. #KukiMilitants with unlimited arms supply are addressed

2. The Indian 🇮🇳 security forces are able to act promptly and constitutionally where they defend the civilians against all attacks by #KukiMilitants

There cannot be a repeat of circumstances where Indian Jawans are not even retaliating , when the #KukiMilitants are shooting and killing them.

Please see the names of the places where the armed conflicts have been happening - Kadangband, Khurkhul, Sunu-Siphai, Thamnapokpi, sungu , Kumbi, Phubala , Yaingangpokpi , Uyok Ching, Moirang , torbung , Tera/khongsangbi , ngangkha-Lawai, koutruk, Khamenlok, Heirok, serou etc etc etc

These are all Meitei villages and the Meiteis defended as they are being targeted and attacked .

The only occasions where Meiteis have retaliated in so called kuki village are - khamenlok and kuki militant camp in Nazareth, Sugnu .

Manipur needs peace and the root causes of #ManipurViolence is #Kukis attacking relentlessly and Indian security forces remaining as passive observer in many instances .

Condemnation.

@meiteiheritage #DeMaS and #NUPI, Delhi, strongly condemn the recent remarks made by former DG, Assam Rifles PC Nair on a national TV channel, @News9Tweets Live, denying the universally accepted fact of the use of drones to drop bombs and firing of missiles on Meitei civilians by the #Kuki terrorists in #Manipur.

Nair's statement, claiming that drones were not used in the conflict, is not only misleading but also deeply insensitive to the innocent civilians who have lost their lives and suffered injuries in these attacks. The evidence against his claim is overwhelming. Many villagers have seen the drone bombing. Military experts who have examined the case have unanimously concluded the drone bombings. Manipur Police have also provided details of the drone bombings.

President, Kuki Student's Organization (KSO), Delhi, Mr. Pojakhup Guite has admitted on a national TV channel, Republic, that Kuki terrorists manufactured their own indigenous rockets which they fired and attacked the Meitei villages. Furthermore, a video widely circulated on social media clearly depicts Kuki militants admitting the use of drones in their attacks.

Mr. Nair's denial of drone usage in the face of such irrefutable evidence is not only a blatant disregard for truth, but also a callous disregard for the suffering of the victims. It will also bring a bad name to the reputation of the Assam Rifles. This was an extremely ill-conceived PR exercise. By indulging in this misadventure, the former DG has lowered the dignity of the institution he represented in particular and the Central Security Forces in general.

We urge Mr. Nair to retract his misleading statements and apologize for his insensitive remarks. It is imperative that public figures exercise the utmost caution and accuracy while deliberating on such sensitive matters.
