Given the volatile situation in Manipur, it is imperative that Central Forces, specifically the Assam Rifles, refrain from entering indigenous Manipuri settlements without prior notification and approval from local authorities. Allegedly, a Kuki woman is said to have been part of the platoon that ventured into villages in Sugnu, Manipur, where a scuffle between the Assam Rifles and State Forces occurred. Reportedly, the Assam Rifles blocked the entrance of the Sugnu Police Station with their Casper Vehicles a year back. Their unilateral actions have consistently sparked tension and unrest, and it is crucial they collaborate with local authorities to prevent further escalation.

The Assam Rifles personnel biased actions and views towards certain communities have inflamed the situation, and their lack of transparency has eroded trust. By adopting a more nuanced and collaborative approach, the Assam Rifles can help alleviate tensions and promote stability in Manipur.
