At the Nepal APPG I met with acting ambassador Bipin Duwadi, who explained in more detail the challenges facing his country at this very difficult time. I’m proud of the support the UK is providing Nepal through this terrible disaster, and am supporting local fundraising efforts

I am working closely with the Foreign Office following the devastating floods in Nepal.

I met the Emergency Response Minister to raise the concerns of residents who are worried about friends and relatives in Nepal.

[GHR Berkshire & North Hampshire News @GHRBerksHants]

The greater Reading Nepalese association has held a candlelit vigil for those affected by the Nepal flood disaster. Central Reading MP @MattRodda spoke at the event in Broad Street. #Nepal

Many thanks to BBC South for covering this important story and to everyone who attended the vigil. If you are able to donate you can support local fundraising to help flood victims at https://t.co/7r3xnqlJux

The UK has offered £5m of emergency aid, rescue workers and is strengthening the team in the British Embassy in Kathmandu.

My office is helping local Nepalese families who are concerned about relatives and friends who are missing and I urge people to get in touch for help. 🧵2/3

The floods in Nepal were absolutely awful and it is impossible to imagine what people there are going through, our hearts go out to them.

As the PM said, ‘Nepal has always been there for Britain in our hour of need, now Britain is with Nepal in its hour of need.’ 🧵1/3
