In my earlier posts, I wrote that a design does not unfold in one format.
It does not unfold in one step, either.
Today we’re introducing Plan Mode in Tracing Paper: describe a design sequence, review the plan, and let the agent work through it with you.
Thank you for all the interest in illoca Tracing Paper.
The previous video was about why we built it.
This one shows what architects can do with it:
Sketch.
Mark up.
Describe ideas in text, or show them with references.
Turn intent into editable 2D and 3D designs, so architects can spend less time rebuilding and more time designing.
After years of building pieces of this idea through research, it means a lot to finally share it with the world.
Now begins the next decade of building it together.
I’ve been reflecting on my past work lately.
What stands out to me is not how much has changed, but how often the same question keeps coming back.

If a tool really matched the way architects think, there would be no reason to keep leaving it just to design freely.
Looking back, I think that tension stayed with me for so long because it pointed to something deeper than software adoption or personal preference. (4/5)
