#elphinstonereef in #redsea is one of the most thriving place with all forms of wild life. This is due to strong currents that keep bringing fresh nutrients and support life growth. Abundance of #corals, accompanied by massive amounts of #reeffish, turtles, sharks and so on.
Very common encounter in #redsea is with #schooling#barracudas. They love stronger current so not easy to get to them. They love to move around as well, up and down, close and far from the reef so one needs to shift the gears a lot to stay close to them.
All of these #diving#trips would not be so easy, relaxing and content creation productive if there would not be #liveaboards where we dive, sleep, eat and repeat all of that day by day ;-)
When at #deadalusreef and while waiting for hammerheads, you can get surprised with #manta coming and checking you out. These true #ocean giants find their way into #redsea as well. This one was super friendly and showed up on every dive and coming over to say hi
#deadalus is where the #hammerheads roam in the #redsea. Depending on the time of the year they’re close or far, deep or shallow, one or many … buy they are there!!!!!
After doing some research on PBY Catalina for my last article, I could not resist to write another one for which I had photos already as my mood setting for visiting island Vis in September. Here is my take on Tulsamerican B-24 wreck next to island Vis https://t.co/l2Z3JCK8JN
#redsea is another great place to meet #turtles or gentle giants in armor. They can be small or big like this one. They can swim along the reef or hang out in the sand patch full of grass like here. Due to my fisheye lens I had to get here close, like 20cm and she did not mind
One of the greatest excitements when in water is swimming with #dolphins. Fortunately #sataya reef or dolphin reef is place to be for #dolphin encounters when in the southern red sea. Bigger the pod, more fun.
Switching gears to #redsea series of images from my latest trip there earlier this month. My take on Red Sea is something like: I say “red sea” and you say “#corals” … red sea, corals … red sea, corals :-). Being able to recognize #redcoral in absence of red color helps here.
In retrospect the best #fun I ever had #underwater was during #closeencounters with #sealion#puppies. OMG … they are so cute and remind me of my dog when he was a puppy. Sea Lions forever!!!!
Eventually I was able to find a local #sealions pack leader (assumingely so on size) who with his super easy and gracious move made a gentle turn in front of me like he wanted to tell me: this is my turf, stay away. So that’s exactly what I did :-)
After first one, many other #sealions arrived. Youngers included. That is a beauty of a reproductive #sealion colony, all ages and sizes are to be seen. But they are super fast and everything happens in the blink of an eye.
I recently returned from #diving in Red Sea. I am sharing my first write ever, back from 2018, about #OceanicWhitetip#sharks
With recent buzz about the recent shark attack in #RedSea it is relevant content. https://t.co/8DA23blxZ8
Scenes like this #inthewild make me feel like I am inside BBC’s Blue Planet. #sealion in its natural habitat #hunting and living its everyday wildlife. First I saw #schoolingfish in the shallow and then I was determined to wait a bit and see if a hunter will appear. And it did!
#losislotes at #islaespiritusantu close to #lapaz in #californiasur is the place to be for #sealions. They have a fully reproductive colony of them. There are hundreds of #sealions there in all ages. They are amazing animals that remind of me dogs with their curious behavior.
The last lag of last year’s trip where we were exploring #californiasur and #bajamexico was in #magdalenabay where we were after #marlins hunting #sardines. Out of 3 full days on tiny boats, scortched by sun, we finally found them in the last hour of the last day. It was epic!!!
