@isnad_africa 3. And this is the major aspect that my research work centered on: #SubSaharaAfrican governments need to increase #commitment in developing infrastructure of these #renewable generating technologies inorder to #diversifysupply and deliver #Clean #affordable #energy to all. #SDG7

@isnad_africa 2. #Zimbabwe for example relies on #hydropower and #coal while Tanzania relies on #naturalgas and #hydropower so commitment to develop #SolarPV, #geothermal or #wind despite the availability of these resources is still quite minimum.

@isnad_africa 1. There has been a few initiatives in terms of #renewableenergypolicy and #renenwableenergyinfrastructure development. But most countries in #Africa are still relying largely  on their traditional #energy generating technologies

@isnad_africa Commitment by #Tanzanianauthorities (through #renewableenergypolicyinitiatives) is required inorder to reduce the initial high prices of #renewabletechnologies as the initial high prices  are scaring away investments and hampering progress for #renewableenergypenetration

@isnad_africa 10. The low #energyprices are attractive to the #lowincome consumers(which make up the largest share of #Tanzania's population). Therefore #renewableelectricity can play a significant role in fostering #access to #affordableenergy in #Tanzania

@isnad_africa 9. #SolarPV and #WindEnergy however experience a significant decrease in the energy prices during the modelling period to 2050 although the energy prices start off very high in 2010.

#Natural gas and #hydropower which are currently contributing to the majority share in the #electricitymix of #Tanzania will experience a very small decrease in the energy price ratios even with high commitment from #Tanzanian authorities to develop them

@isnad_africa 4. As a result most #governments in #SubSaharaAfrica are faced with the problem of having to provide for their countries' growing energy needs at a time when the world is battling with negative impacts of #CO2emissions resulting from the burning of #fossilfuels for #energy

@isnad_africa 1. #ModernEnergy is a key driver to sustained #economicgrowth and #improvedlivelihoods but despite the abundant #energyresources in #SubSaharaAfrica, it has the largest number of people without #access to #modernenergy and heavily rely on traditional fuels for #energy.
