It’s so special when we get to be a part of someone’s first publication journey, and such a fine piece at that! Read @chippawwa’s essay in @The_Rumpus ❤️
My first publication is out today with @The_Rumpus
It’s a piece about growing up without grandparents and working with a lot of old people at the Apple Store.
You can read it here!

It’s important to reflect on which voices were broadcast and which were buried over the past year.
What strikes me about this evidence, which has been published widely in Israel yet blacked out in western media, is that it’s sourced primarily from Israeli military and hostages.
Tomorrow, I’m posting a video I’ve been working on for a while about one of my favorite places in the world.
It’s under all kinds of threats, but there’s a movement to make it a marine protected area.
Please sign and share when you see it. Thank you. 🙏 🐠
Got to review the @Indigo_Girls and @amoslee for @amplifiedsd this past week. Excellent show at the Rady Shell, read all about it here:

Resist authorities that pressure you to suppress your innate empathy toward other animals. It is your most powerful tool as a biologist. It is the antidote to anthropocentrism.
If there’s anything that biology teaches us, it’s that other animals are more like us than different.
The true ideological cancer that plagues biology is not anthropomorphism, but anthropocentrism — the delusion of human supremacy.
That’s why the academic establishment hated Galileo, Darwin, and Goodall; they challenged anthropocentrism. You must challenge it, too.
A message to young biologists:
People will tell you not to ‘anthropomorphize’ other animals. Ignore them.
Every time you interact with another animal, imagine what they are thinking. Put yourself in their position. 🧵
Can someone explain to me why it is good to be upset at someone eating a dog or a cat, but not if they are eating a pig or a chicken?
I've been trying to find any important differences between those things but have come up empty so far. Anyone?
Cows celebrate their first taste of freedom.
These male dairy calves would have been veal by now, were it not for this incredible rescue effort by Behind Your Milk, FL Animal Rescue Alliance, Farm Sanctuary, and this amazing new sanctuary.
Grateful to be part of this moment.
