@MoreirasMagic It’s not just drafting, it’s the development by Sydney that is key. The “academy gifts” are still only 18 when they arrive & have far less exposure to elite jnr footy than Vic, SA, WA kids. Plenty top 10,20 kids don’t advance/thrive once they hit AFL, Sydney has high strike rate

@glbastiani Glad they bit the bullet & put Heeney on ball to shore up stoppage . Injuries to forwards also contributing to problem of key backs being out, so coaches have had just as many headaches piecing together a fwd line that has been starved of ball. Solution= bring Heeney to the ball

Sydney are a draft and develop team. Seems to be working ok based on demographic of list and GF 2022 with large core of young players who will improve further

You get them at 18 on potential and have to develop them, which Sydney does better than most. 4 of starting defence last night came to Swans as rookies. Swans don’t bottom out and get bulk low picks like other sides
