@dgoold That’s beyond my pay grade. But as a fan, I want to see my guy protected. Years ago a pitch way inside to their best hitter, or first hitter up, would not have been unusual. Maybe times have changed that much. I get that hitting their guy in a close game risks sparking a rally.
Hey @dgoold to what do you attribute the disastrous pitching from both clubs in the finale with Royals. Wind? Humidity? It was nuts how just about every pitcher was ineffective.
@dgoold@LWorthySports The culture of an organization starts at the top. I believe the culture is much much better now, and that’s part of our success thus far. Like a lot of successful people, Mo stuck around a little too long.
@RegionalTVCat Parents/coaches can really get carried away at these games. Winning isn’t half as rewarding as watching a kid get a chance and exceed expectations.
@jmjones I remember when the NL Central championship went thru STL. Now it goes thru Milwaukee. But that team still remembers Cardinal dominance and this sweep was a trophy for them.
@dgoold I agree totally with the strategy Bloom discusses here. My burning questions at the moment: how do we get Pozo more at bats? Will we reinsert Lars when finally healthy and is that a mistake? (I love , love Pozo’s at bats. The guy does not get cheated)
@RegionalTVCat@BobPagesports I met Whitey at a south county dive restaurant when I was around 18 years old. It was winter. I ended up pushing his car out of snow on the lot. Even Before that, he was wonderful.
@dgoold The problem with staggering off days is you get three games with a lesser lineup instead one game. I’m okay with Oli’s plan. But then I may be the rare fan who kind of likes him. Winn seems to need time off more than the others. Fair to call him injury prone?
@dgoold I liked going to Urias in that spot. But I agree with others here that Saggese should have been bunting twice earlier to move the runners. On a day when he had two hits, it was still a rough day.
