Crime has dropped significantly in DC. Homicides and shootings fell ~30% in 2024. Carjackings nearly 50%. Most crime is now below pre-pandemic levels. These drops bring DC in line with national trends.

Still more work to do. But this is serious progress.

We need a justice system that keeps us safe while respecting fairness and human rights. The death penalty doesn’t do this.

No evidence of deterrence. Infected with bias. Over 200 on death row exonerated.

We have other ways to hold people accountable.
