This is either brilliant or scary:
Anthropic accidentally leaked the TS source code of Claude Code (which is closed source). Repos sharing the source are taken down with DMCA.
BUT this repo rewrote the code using Python, and so it violates no copyright & cannot be taken down!
this highway can carry about 10,000 people per hour in each direction at full capacity
a single subway line can carry 30,000 people per hour in each direction, all without tearing a neighborhood in half.
cars are just fundamentally super inefficient. itโs basic geometry.
A common confusion is that to decarbonise, the world will need to produce the equivalent of coal, oil & gas in the form of low-carbon energy.
That's not true.
Most fossil energy gets wasted. In the US, just one-third gets turned into useful services. The rest is wasted as heat.
@dabit3@cryptofonic Agreed, and also obligatory caveat that if you've already got to this point with tailwind css, you know how to abstract out components so you don't have to deal with this all the time
@zachxbt@ProtonMail@ProtonPrivacy They also practice some dark anti-patterns when it comes to subscriptions. For example, you cannot cancel your subscription without losing all your remaining months. Sad that the only real privacy option we had resorts to these kinds of practices
@dabit3 By extension, this is why I prefer batteries-included framework/languages. Yes, bloat, slow, etc. But also, don't have to install some random package to get a single piece of item done, track 100 packages and worry which one will break in the next major update.
Maybe the Western tradition where linguistic agility is culturally mapped as credibility and proximity to truth isn't best idea when audiences no longer share the same rhetorical training as those that historically attempted to convey fallacious, bad-faith arguments in small amphitheaters๐ค
1/ Itโs unfortunate I have to make this thread but I am being sued by MachiBigBrother for an article I published in June 2022.
Today Machi filed the defamation lawsuit. The lawsuit is baseless and an attempt to chill free speech. I intend to fight back & defend free speech.
You know why we intubated people for Covid in March 2020?
Because otherwise they were going to die. Full. Stop.
I remember a patient rolling in with an oxygen saturation of 42%, breathing twice as fast as normal, struggling on a face mask with oxygen all the way up.
What to do?
@AutSciPerson Just spend that time on this bird app, and you'll pass the test..
On a serious note though, don't think I'd want my health data in the hands of a fin co. Red flags in so many ways
