Most blockchain papers introduce features first.

Retium starts by explaining the architecture before discussing what the protocol can do.

That immediately caught my attention.

Only after establishing that foundation does the whitepaper begin introducing concepts like:

• Prime Number Lattice Architecture (PNLA)

• Validator specialization

• Transaction processing

• Execution

Each section builds naturally on the one before it.

It isn't there because it's the first feature.

It's there because it provides the context needed to understand every engineering decision that follows.

Something unusual happened while I was reading Retium's whitepaper.

I expected the first technical section to introduce features.

Instead, it introduced Prime Number Lattice Architecture (PNLA).

At first, I wondered why.

By the end of the paper, it made perfect sense.

The whitepaper doesn't begin by asking readers to admire what Retium can do.

It begins by explaining how Retium is designed before explaining what Retium does.
