▪️The overall land acquisition for the ambitious Virar-Alibaug Multi Modal Corridor project has crossed the 50% mark!

▪️The phase 1 of this project requires a total of 1347 hectares of land spread across three districts:

1️⃣ Raigad: 765.01 hectares
2️⃣ Thane: 520.92 hectares
3️⃣ Palghar: 61.29 hectares

▪️The Raigad district authorities have completed 25% acquisition in just a matter 1.5 months through special drives.

▪️Land owners giving consent by 31st August will be receiving 25% bonus compensation.

▪️As of now, out of the remaining 50% land, around 15% are opposing the acquisition due to demand for higher land rates whereas roughly 25% land is stuck in family inheritance disputes.

▪️Thane district is witnessing the slowest land acquisition due to the need of relocation of active business sheds and godowns.

▪️The Maharashtra Government recently cleared a major hurdle by approving the transfer of 30 hectares of government land in Palghar district to the Forest Department for compensatory afforestation.

🚨 BIG UPDATE: Virar–Alibaug Multi Modal Corridor!

Land acquisition for Phase 1 has crossed the 50% mark. The project requires 1,347 hectares across Palghar, Thane and Raigad:

🔹 Raigad: 765.01 ha
🔹 Thane: 520.92 ha
🔹 Palghar: 61.29 ha

Raigad completed 25% acquisition in just 1.5 months through special drives. Landowners giving consent by August 31 will receive 25% bonus compensation.

Strengthening Maharashtra’s Urban Connectivity with Major Metro and Ring Road Projects

Chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure in Mumbai, today.

Approved Metro Line 13 from Mira Bhayandar to Vasai-Virar, a key project aimed at strengthening connectivity and mobility across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This Metro line will pass through Thane and Palghar districts and will be implemented by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

The project is estimated to cost ₹17,724.99 crore and will span 25.03 km, comprising 21.78 km of elevated corridor and 3.25 km of underground alignment, further strengthening connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. By 2031, the corridor is expected to serve around 4.49 lakh passengers daily, while reducing travel time by 50% compared to road travel, significantly improving mobility and commuter convenience.

Also approved the Soratapwadi to Varve-Shivare section of the Pune Ring Road, which will play an important role in easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in Pune. The revised cost of this project is ₹10,502.36 crore for the Eastern Extension of the proposed Pune Ring Road, aimed at easing traffic congestion in Pune. The project will be implemented by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The project includes a 31.805-km access-controlled expressway from Soratapwadi (Valati) on the Pune-Solapur Road to Varve (Budruk) (Shivare) on the Pune–Satara Road.

These transformative projects mark another decisive step towards building a faster, better-connected and future-ready Maharashtra, while enhancing mobility, reducing congestion and improving the quality of urban life for citizens.
