When BCCI directed the Indian team management to lodge a protest with ICC Match Referee Mike Procter against atrocious umpiring decisions made on the opening day of the second Test against Australia at Sydney.

This is just absurd set of decisions from BMC. First they went after Nevilled D'souza Ground and now by raising the price by 250% at Mumbai Football Arena, they will drove out Mumbai City FC as well who are already dealing with City group exit.

The bjp regime is set out on a mission to finish football in Mumbai.

The Mumbai Football Arena that we made in 2015-16 at the Shahajiraje Krida Sankul, Andheri Sports Complex, has now got new trustees.

They believe that rather than promoting sports, it’s their job to hike the fees and push out football from the city, so that they can start leasing the ground to events and shows and earn money out of it.

As a result, they’ve quoted an absurdly high rate of fees to @MumbaiCityFC for the @IndSuperLeague

As a Marathi, my take on this auto-walas and Marathi fiasco:

If you're living in another state for a decade to earn your livelihood, knowing the local language enough to communicate with people is basic common sense. It's not that hard.

Your job literally involves driving an auto and interacting with Marathi people every day. So why not learn a few simple Marathi phrases that actually help you do your job?

Nobody is asking you to become fluent in Marathi. But showing arrogance toward locals and refusing to even make an effort will only create more resentment and, eventually, more hate.

Even in the fixed matches, the money would really pour in only after SRT got out. He isn't a public speaker, he has ducked issues, and been a compliant mouth-piece. But let's not get carried away. He is far from being anywhere close to the worst offender.

He is a cricket man. He never hinted at being anything else. We cannot hold him accountable for our Imran Khan fantasy.

He carried the team for a decade. He gave Indians something to feel good about. Women’s chief coach on holiday just before the World Cup — and the girls still fought their hearts out and exceeded expectations. Credit to the players. But where is the accountability? Do we really expect a team to perform at its best when the chief coach is away during the final phase of preparation?

Men’s team loses to a top team → “It’s a learning experience.”
Beats an Asian team → “Great victory.”
Plays good hockey → “Good performance.”

But here’s the uncomfortable question:
Are we building a team to PLAY good hockey, or a team capable of WINNING against the best in the world?

Stop hiding behind “learning”, “good hockey” and future tournaments.

The World Cup is not a rehearsal.
It is the World Cup.😎

So who is going to ask the difficult questions?
Who is going to demand accountability?
And most importantly…

Does anyone actually care?

@mybmc lawyer made a stunning admission to the Bombay High Court: Municipal Commissioner @AshwiniBhide was kept in the dark about earlier court assurances to preserve Bandra's Neville D’Souza Football Ground.

​Unaware of the court proceedings, the civic body’s General Body voted to convert the open space into a convention center.

​Stating that the "majesty of law is at stake," the High Court slammed the lapse and froze all conversion steps until September 18. Sigh

So High court has stepped in and ordered BMC to cease further action on the conversion. The matter was in court and BMC violating the status quo is seen as contempt of court.
