I cofounded Bristol Butch Bar with the marvelous @rosiepoes to offer much needed love, community and support to butches, avenging the death of one of my chosen family members. Its lush to see good stuff come out of such pain. Thank you @ellabraidwood 4 gathering butch excellence
It’s #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek!
This week we’re spotlighting @TextArtist’s Emotional Weather series at #LumiereDurham 2023, sponsored by @BAMUKAndIreland. 🙌
These 5 artworks use weather images to explore Mental Health, asking “What’s your Emotional Weather forecast?” 🧠☂️
@alzheimerssoc It’s seems designed to scare people and demonise people living with dementia rather than promoting inclusion, support and value. After all the work of Dementia Friends it’s hugely misguided.
Unexpected large number of attendees but great night #DCAC@wshed along with @ChloeMeineck, really deep conversation highlighting on queer/lesbian representations, original title of the film (Dolls instead of Dykes), non-hardcore scenes with comedy actions and editing effects!
"Large-scale problems do not require large scale solutions; they require small-scale solutions within a large scale framework" (David Fleming). This relationship between small & large-scale change is a fundamental issue for leaders of change. The @Centre4SysInnov describes a maturing approach to address this:
1. Confetti: multiple, single, focussed projects which slice up the complex reality of people’s lives & are unlikely to create large-scale impact across a system.
2. Spaghetti: a coherence between projects all working towards the same goal that generates potential for multiplication & amplifications of impact.
3: Meatballs & sauce: clusters of ingredients that together create something that is bigger (more tasty!) than these individual parts. The "sauce" keeps projects together so they can amplify, multiply & reinforce each other in practice.
See their brilliant (free) guide to enabling large-scale system change: https://t.co/dzsg5IpCLi. TY @LauraJYearsley.

Have you ever thought about how it feels to track intimacy and share so much of our intimate lives with our phones? We explored this (and lots more!) at St Annes House during our #FeelingMachinesWeekender earlier this year.

When we think about grief, we often think about bereavement, but many other losses can profoundly affect us. Join @MalikAndTheOGs @AlisonCrowther John Simmonds & me to explore the challenges adopted & children in care face & ways they can ask questions & tell their story

As lesbians, The Lesbian Project is #NotForUs. We are tired of trans exclusionary groups thinking they can speak for us. We don’t believe that advocating for lesbian needs can be done when it is rooted in transphobia. Sign and share the open letter:

The BU Lesbian Project produces & platforms empirically rigorous, historically accurate, and trans- inclusive research about lesbian lives. If that’s the kind of Lesbian Project you want people to hear from, welcome, we’d love your follow/like/RT/QTs! 🏳️⚧️ 💜 🏳️🌈
