Come and work with me as a Treasurer or Trustee for UK charity The Belay Foundation. We help trauma-affected children and their families throughout the UK. Our waiting lists are full and we need to grow... @ChildrensComm@nesta_uk@voscur@NSPCC@NCVO
It's impossible to fix 99% of most common #parenting problems, when the underlying issues are not our children, but governments.
We must create a movement of parents to stand up, speak out & fight for change:

How can such an intelligent man not understand tipping points & feedback loops?🚨The 1.5 C #ParisAgreement target is not optional – it is an extreme limit for humanity. There is no evidence we can handle anything beyond this red line. @Sir_David_King@JKSteinberger@jrockstrom
Great reading ahead of the session at Communicate 2020 on 15 Nov. How do the public actually feel about direct action? Who mediates that...? The result doesn't surprise me, but then I've probably been closer to environmental conflcits than most. @bns_ https://t.co/i8hcQAU1Jj
I'm chairing a panel on the use of Direct Action at #communicate2022 . How and where these stories are reported and communicated is so very important to the impression it leaves. @nat_his_con join us if you can.
@RichardJMurphy Yes, but how would it be to be English in another country? We have, as a country, nicked other people's stuff for millennia, what makes us think we would be welcome? We are about to reap what those before us have sown... I feel a responsibility to stay and try to change it..
We have a treat in store today - and for the next few days - an online summit of trauma experts - I attend every year. Each day free for the first 48 hours. Today is a live event on trauma and climate change - something all our children struggle with.

If you want to understand more about trauma, visit the Collective Trauma Summit over the next 10 days. Each day is free for 48 hours. I would say 'the' world leaders in this field are speaking. Go. Learn. Be wowed.

Congratulations to my father, who was today announced as one of @heritage_crafts finalists for Woodworker of the Year. Not bad for a self-taught carver, who uses tools he made himself out of sharpened Land Rover springs. This piece (by popular demand), is solid Scottish elm
My work is about difficult conversations and trauma. When people are stressed by the real world and bad news - money, the environment - having those conversations wisely becomes even more difficult. Practice self-compassion my friends - pause, breathe. https://t.co/XflaSxKtDU
@RebeccaSolnit I mention this because an enormous amount of sensible policy ‘wins’ have been achieved in the UK with stakeholder and citizen involvement.
@RebeccaSolnit Little known. There is a direct line back from the success of citizens assemblies through ‘public dialogue’ as used by the UK government since 2005 back through to Stakeholder Dialogue which came out of the UK charity The Environment Council in 1996 (based on work in Chicago!).
My son and I took an identical photo on our last visit to Bristol Zoo last week. Over 80% of the animals are endangered and on breeding programmes and I'm glad the animals will be getting better housing at Wild Place, but sad to see the history go.
